Mark and Matt,
I am so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I was in Sweet Adelines with your mom way back in the 70s. Through her I met your dad, and would often see him around town. He was a true gentleman with a kind word and smile for everyone.
I’m sorry for the loss to your family, and know there are many treasured memories to reminisce. Prayers for your family.

It has been 40 plus yrs that I have known the Whipples and my feelings about Vic and Carolin were I felt like I always put them on a higher up pedestal than myself and honestly were a little intimidated by them because I didn't feel like I could ever be as good as they were but i loved them none the less looking back i dont know what ever made me feel that way because i feel that they had more faith in me than i did and not a single time ever did i feel that they ever judged me or looked at me any differently than they would have the president of General Motors and I believe that they would have been there for me no matter what I ever needed they were 100 percent genuinely good people
I do miss them 😞 May we all be Diamonds some day💎

Dear Mark, Matt and family - Kay Woodring has let us know your dear father has been promoted to Glory, and we do send our heartfelt sympathy to each and every one. We cherish our many years of knowing and loving dear Carolin and Victor since University days at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and the inspiration they have been to us. So many fun times together for over 60 years and it didn't matter when we last saw each other, we just picked up and went on like we'd never been separated!!! And Victor was always faithful in keeping in touch via phone calls frequently in Florida or Ontario, Canada. May God comfort each one as only He can, and may you be blessed in your amazing heritage in such a loving family. With love, hugs and prayers, Ruth and Robert Garbutt

Mark and Matt I am so sorry to hear about your dad passing (and your Mom as well). He and your Mom were wonderful people, the best neighbors and, extended family. From your dads stories and jokes, to the downright crazy things we used to do, I will always remember those times fondly. He would speak highly of you both very often and how proud he was of you both. Hundreds of stories and memories I could tell, he and your Mom will be missed very much. My condolences to you both and the rest of your families.

Miss you so much already. You were a great brother growing up in our family, Took care of the Ruound Oak Stove so we were all warm. You and your Twin, brother Virgil, cut lots of logs with that crosscut saw. You were loved by so many and so faithful to your family. Rest in peace.
