Viola M. Swan

Born April 15, 1919 to Reinhold and Hulda (Benson) Peterson, passed away on July 25, 2017 at the age of 98. Viola graduated from Fowlerville High School in 1938. She then went on to attend beautician school in Detroit. Viola was a devoted member of the former Dansville United Methodist Church for almost 75 years. She enjoyed polka music, dancing and gardening.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence “Pud” Swan; brother, Arthur Peterson; and great-grandson, Trenton Shrontz. Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Marvin (Diane) Swan; daughter, Marlene Chamberlain; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Betty Douglass, Nita Church and Rita Lewis.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Millville United Methodist Church, 1932 M-52, Stockbridge, MI 49285. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason MI 48854 and one hour prior to the service at the church.
