Aldo Canzona, age 86. Beloved husband of Barbara Ann (nee Havrilek), dearest father of Diane Teresa Marchand, Laura Ann Loncala (Tom) and Carmen Michael Canzona (Catherine); devoted grandfather of Nicole and Chase Marchand, Julia Loncala and Anthony and Angela Canzona; uncle of many. Preceded in death by his parents Salvatore and Philomena Canzona (nee Fiorella), his sister Adalia Pitoscia and brothers Carmine and Dante. Aldo came to this country with his parents from Campobasso, Italy in 1955. He served in the United States Army and then worked for General Motors for 33 years, retiring in 1997. He was not bashful in using his employee discount on many vehicles over the years, in which he had buyer’s remorse after nearly every one! He first settled in Collinwood, home to many Italian families who had also moved to the area. He then moved to Lyndhurst shortly afterward with his family before eventually building his home in South Euclid in 1974 where he resided for the following 50 years. Aldo was happily married for 62 years to his wife Barbara. Aldo was an avid bowler, regularly participating in several leagues for over 50 years, where he made many friends in the sport. He would often bowl in 2 leagues each week. He embraced simplicity in life, content with reading the daily paper, spending time outside, listening to classical music and going for walks around his neighborhood. It was understood that Aldo would never allow anyone else to pay the bill when out to eat, going to the store, or anywhere else money was involved; he took care of it all. He was very committed to his faith and belief in religion. Aldo’s greatest joy was time spent with his family, hosting get-togethers for the holidays in his home and family trips to places like Hocking Hills, Oglebay, and Geneva-on-the-Lake. He was loved and will be missed by all that were blessed to meet him. In lieu of flowers the family suggests spending time with loved ones. Funeral Mass 10 am
