

ANITA PALMIERI (nee Piano) age 92, passed away June 17, 2026. Beloved wife of Mike Ricciardella and Carmine Palmieri (both deceased). Dearest mother of Joanna Ricciardella, Nicholas Ricciardella (Conni Baker), Anna Zsinko (John) and Antoinette Arezone (Dean). Devoted grandmother of Krystal (Robert Ward), Michelina, Matthew (deceased), Michael, Brooke and Nick. Dear sister of Antonio (Alba) (both deceased), Angela Gargano (Agostino ) (both deceased), Nancy Carilo (Peppino) (both deceased), Mario (Anna) (both deceased) and Gaetano (deceased) (Vincentina). Dear aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Anita was born in Campobasso, Italy and came to the United States in 1958 at the age of 24, leaving behind her homeland and family to start a new life .
She raised a loving family, passing on many family traditions and culture from her Italian heritage.
Anita was the " Dough Queen", making the best fried dough, pizza, pasta, and bread. She would also make fried dough for the local church festival. Anita was also a tough bocce competitor, being in the Mayfield Heights women's league for many years. Another one of her favorite pastimes was going to the casinos. She took a lot of trips with her friends to many different casinos. Anita dearly loved her grandchildren and would always be caught slipping them a " twenty". Anita worked many years and retired from the Mayfield Heights City hall.
