David lived a life defined by independence, thoughtfulness, and quiet purpose. He spent much of his adult life in California and Cleveland, Ohio, where he followed his own path and found meaning in both his work and personal interests.
Professionally, David had a deep passion for computers and programming. He worked for IBM and later owned and operated his own business, Short Order Electronics, reflecting his technical skill, curiosity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Though David lived a largely solitary life, he formed meaningful and lasting bonds. He is survived by over fifteen cousins all over the United States. David held a very special place in the lives of Christina Chavez, Justin Chavez, and Michael Chavez, to whom he was more than an uncle by choice — he was family in the truest sense.
David is also lovingly remembered by his best friend of over 35 years, Sharon Weber, whose friendship was a constant and cherished part of his life. He maintained important connections through his Second Life associates, with whom he shared community, creativity, and companionship in ways that mattered deeply to him.
In his later years, David found joy in quieter creative pursuits, particularly putting together Lego flower sets, a pastime that reflected his patience, attention to detail, and appreciation for thoughtful design.
David will be remembered for his gentle nature, his sharp mind, and the meaningful presence he brought to the lives of those who knew him. His life stands as a reminder that even a quiet path can be rich with purpose, connection, and love.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
