My condolences to the entire Bear family. I knew Don from his days back at United Rentals and he was so great to deal with. He was truly a salt of the Earth kind of guy.  I loved busting chops with him over the years...he was never shy about expressing his opinion.

I have known Don most of my life. We were neighbors and friends. From the neighbor hood kid, to the local EMT, to a guest at his cousin’s daughter’s wedding (my niece). He accomplished a lot in his life.  He was always a great guy! He will be missed

I’m very sorry to hear of Dons passing. He was a wonderful and loving man. Spoke well of his wife and revered his children. He lived hard and played hard.  A great friend to me. Spilled many a beer with him and enjoyed our Friday morning breakfasts in Orwell.  I toast his memory. He will live on for many years to come in the minds of those that knew him and loved him.

Don was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He was a wonderful friend to us, especially to my husband.  My husband  didn’t really get to know Don until his wife became the Judge (my boss and friend), but from that very first meeting, they hit it off immediately—sharing stories about fishing, boating, four wheeling, motorcycles, and snowmobiling. Before long, they had exchanged so many stories that making a trip together just made sense. Off they went to our cabin in Ontario, where they had such a great time. Every spring and fall afterward, like clockwork, they returned to Stinky Bay to fish and, of course, enjoy a few 12 ounce curls.
Don was a jokester at heart—always ready with a laugh. He loved the outdoors and cherished time at his own cabin, especially when he could be out on the water sharing one of his unforgettable fishing stories.
Don spoke often and lovingly of his children. And then there was his wife, Terri—the love of his life, whom he adored. When he was with her, he loved to say, “I am her arm candy,” and he would smile proudly.
He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
