I still miss Florence every day. We spent a huge amount of time together. At first, I was her driver, but then we became good friends. Probably for over a year or two, I didn’t even charge her any fees for anything. We were friends and I cared about her unconditionally because she actually liked me and sometimes we just sat in her TV room and talked for hours about everything. Florence was very knowledgeable and a great problem solver. I wished she was my aunt or grandmother because she was such a very special person! I feel like we treated each other kindly with a lot of respect and especially during Covid, I checked on her and always dropped groceries by her door. Today is 10/10 and I have been remembering Florence all day. I still bring Florence up in many of my conversations to family and friends. I visit her graveside regularly and I will visit her soon because I will always remember Florence. Unlike some people, Florence was kind, a very special person to me and many others and I cared about her more than I can put into words. Since I couldn’t say goodbye, I hope she knew and still knows how special she was to me! I pray she is reunited with her husband and I hope she is trying to help our messed up world from above - I wish I could have the chance to talk to her again for just a few hours because she helped me throughout the time we spent together, so again Florence, thank you for always being my friend❤️Michele

You were so much fun on you 100th birthday! Today, I still remember you every day because I miss you every day. Our dear friend Betty is gone too as of December 2022, so I hope the two of you are having coffee together! I sure wish both of you were here so we could drive around to see the beautiful Fall colors. Love you Florence - your driver, Michele ❤️

I can’t believe this was one of the last times I was allowed to see you.
My heart was broken when I found out you were gone.
I miss sitting in your back room and talking about everything and you helping me with my challenges.
I drive by your house hoping for one more talk, one more laugh, or even one more drive to the store! I miss you Florence. I’m so sorry I couldn’t say goodbye 😢

Florence and Dusty both have been cherished and dearest friends of my family for all the years of my life & I am now 72. Dusty and my father Ben were coworkers at Calgon from their very beginning years in Pittsburgh and thus began also a close friendship between my mother Margaret (Peg) and Florence (Flo). Memories abound: When Flo & Dusty would visit with us at our home in Pittsburgh I always remember Dusty, being the big man he was, putting me on the palm of his hand ( with Flo’s assistance) and hoisting me up to the ceiling so this little two-year-old could “touch” the ceiling. He &Flo both always had gleeful & yes spirited personalities & seemed to get a genuine kick out of such playful shenanigans:-) Florence, unlike my mom at the time, was the one with the drivers license & would take my mother & me on journeys -once to the pottery & china areas just over the border into Ohio where my mother purchased her turkey dishes and turkey platter that has yearly graced our family TG  table since that daytime  road trip  in the early ‘50’s! When Calgon transferred us all up to Michigan I remember many gatherings  and even Friday Fish Frys at the Masonic Lodge in Trenton that Florence would drive my mom and me to enjoy while the “men” were golfing after work on Friday afternoons. Even after my father was in ‘67 transferred to a new Calgon plant in Morrisville Pa-our close connection & communication ( with a few visits here & there) always endured. My father passed away in ‘87, Dusty in the ‘90’s I believe, and my own mother in ‘05, but I have forever remained in touch with Florence -tho in the last few years- just through our yearly Christmas cards. For such a Rosie the Riveter type gal as she was- Flo’s holiday cards were always accompanied by a lengthy newsy letter with her trademark tiny & precise little penmanship that somehow seemed anomalous to her larger than life persona.  I will forever cherish the memories of Flo & Dusty Manning.            

Florence was my best friend for over 5 years. I just found out about her passing today and I’m heartbroken as is my husband, Norman. We shared a lot of good memories and a lot of fun times. We could sit for hours and talk about her live. She was so smart and she was an Army veteran from WWII. She was amazing!

I hope she knew that I loved her like family and would do anything for her. She would listen to me when I needed someone to talk to and she gave me great advice! 

Florence, I hope you knew we were true friends. I will never forget you and you will always be in my heart. Like I always did for my mom, I’ll be bringing you white daisies to your grave, along with your butterscotch candies and our winning lottery ticket!

I’m sorry we never had our spa day for your 101st birthday, but I was so honored to celebrate it with you .

Our wonderful Aunt Florence will live in our hearts always!  She was deeply loved in life and in death.  Florence was a true Patriot and a very giving person.   Her love for family was deep and she had no favorites.  We know she is at peace with Jesus!  We will miss her very much.  ❤️🙏

Aunt Florence was loved by everyone.  She was a kind and independent spirit who will always have a special place in my heart.    She just celebrated her 101st birthday.  I am sorry I cannot be there with the family for the funeral.  I am praying for healing during this time of grief.  Remember the good times and keep her memory alive.  We will miss you and love you always.
