Frances M. Ely

Frances M. Ely (nee Brancovsky), age 65, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and the love of her family. Fran was born on November 28, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Robert and Stella (Petralia) Brancovsky. She married the love of her life, Richard Ely, on May 30, 1981, and they had 42 wonderful years together. Fran was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Fran was a graduate of Wickliffe High School. She recently retired after 23 years as the bookkeeper of Knuth’s in Pepper Pike. Fran enjoyed traveling, golfing, playing pickleball, and working out at the YMCA. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Richard Ely. She is also survived by her mother, Stella (nee Petralia) Brancovsky; siblings William (Annamarie) Brancovsky, Robert (Lorrie) Brancovsky, Mary (Richard) Farone, and John Brancovsky; in-laws Ronald (Debbie) Ely, Raymond (Lorrie) Ely, Robert (Barbara) Ely, and Rodney (Renee) Ely; 17 nieces and nephews, and 7 great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves behind her buddy, Parker. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Brancovsky, and her in-laws, Phillip and Irene Ely. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve or Lake Humane Society. Though Fran left us all too soon, we will hold her in our hearts forever. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Tuesday April 2nd at Divine Word Catholic Church, 8100 Eagle Rd. Kirtland, OH 44094, where the family will receive friends 9:30 AM until time of Mass.
