To everyone including myself,
Love to you all. We will miss his basic presence of being; the story teller, the man incensed by the injustices of the world, and his love for children and animals even though the parenting part was a challenge for him. Grateful I now have a copy of his voice: "Don't forget me." We won't Fred. We won't.

I fondly remember Fred from the time he bought the two family home two doors down from where we lived in Cleveland Heights. Our daughters played together for years prior to our move to a larger home. Please accept my heartfelt condolences which go out to the entire family.
Fred was a loving, father, stepfather, and doting grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

Fred and I grew up together in Garfield Hts. We were like brothers and were always at each other's homes, playing softball in the field behind his house, walking the railroad tracks, or swimming at the YMCA. He was an excellent swimmer and swam in butterfly and breaststroke competitions. He and I took up trombone in Junior High, but I dropped out to run track and cross country.  He was an outstanding hand ball player and won many tournaments.

We lost track of each other after Fred's family moved to Shaker Heights during high school. We worked together at the River Road YMCA camp in Willoughby Hills, Ohio, during the summers where he helped with maintenance chores and I helped in the kitchen. Living at the camp was like living down the street again, and we had a blast.

He went to Kent State University, and he was there when the National Guard opened fire on a student demonstration.  He toured Europe talking about that incident, but he came home just to be at our wedding.   He came to each of our daughter's weddings and was there for my mom's funeral. He was family.

There is so much that we shared when we were younger, and a lot we missed as we got older, but it seemed like no time had passed when we got together.  He was a once in a lifetime friend and we will miss him terribly.   We will not be able to attend Fred's Celebration of Life, but I hope that everyone there will share their stories about Fred, laugh a lot, cry a little, and help each other move on without him. He'd like that.

I deeply regret being unable to attend my cousin Fred's memorial service. I have many fond memories of Fred. I'd like to think he and my brother, Steve, are somewhere creating havoc together.

Just heard the news from Crystal and am so sorry for your loss! I have the best childhood memories of Fred and seeing these photos reinforces what an amazing father he was to all. I feel fortunate that I was able to connect with him again years ago with my mom and kids.  Our time on S. Taylor will always be so special to me.  You’re all in my prayers.

FRED, Thanks for the memories and all the Love you shared with the Family,  you will be missed in this Crazy life and I can hear your laugh(chuckles)
