

Helen Catherine Cain passed into the presence of Jesus peacefully on September 13, 2026. Helen, a proud graduate of Kent State University, a cherished neighbor, and a member of the Vitality Church Family, leaves behind a legacy of love and service to Jesus Christ. She was a radiant light in her community, passionately advocating for her church family and the well-being of Mayfield Heights, a community she held close to her heart.
As a founding member of the Mayfield Heights Neighborhood Watch program and a graduate of one of the first Citizen Academies, Helen played an active role in making her community safer and more vibrant. Her unwavering support for the Mayfield Heights Police Department exemplified her dedication to those who serve and protect. Helen received the Mayfield Heights Mayor Proclamation for her dedicated service and the Citizen of the Year award for starting the Neighborhood Crime Watch.
Helen deeply appreciated veterans and first responders, and her kind spirit touched many lives. Though she will be greatly missed, her love and light will forever inspire those who knew her. Her legacy of faith in Jesus, community service, and compassion will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
Helen Cain is preceded in death by her father, Elmer Michael Cain, and her mother, Virginia G. Gerity Cain; siblings: Michael F. Cain, Vincent E. Cain; and survived by her sister, Virginia T. Cain.
A Celebration of Life Service with reception to follow will be held at Vitality Church (LaMalfa Banquet Center location), 5783 Heisley Rd, Mentor, Ohio 44060. Sunday, September 20th, 11:30 am.
