

HOWARD E. STUDER, November 21, 1926 - June 8, 2020. Long time farmer and real estate entrepreneur, Howard Studer of Mayfield Heights, Ohio passed peacefully at home on Monday, June 8. Howard grew up in Bainbridge Ohio, one of five children. He attended Kenston School and served in the United States Navy. He also served as a member of the Portage County Special Deputies in the 1960s. Howard married the love of his life, Lucy (Pignatiello) Studer on February 13th, 1971 and moved to Mayfield Heights, Ohio. For many years Howard and Lucy owned and operated King’s General Store in Chardon, Ohio in addition to farming properties he owned in Rome and Austinburg, Ohio. He and Lucy maintained a second home in Zephyrhills, Florida in addition to traveling throughout the US in their RV, enjoying many good times with their wide circle of family and friends. He bravely took young grandchildren on vacation many times and maintained good humor throughout and hosted legendary family picnics and parties at his Rome farm, Elmview. He is survived by sister, Margaret Stanley, brother Ralph (Sharon), children Ruth Ann (Kit) Studer, Howard Studer (Peggy), Annette Riley, and Tom Savitski (Cindy); five grandchildren, Kymberly Seabolt (Mike), Elizabeth Moser (Mike), Michael Studer, Ryan Dustman (Jennifer) and Dawn Fertig (Leo), 10 great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Viola (McNiece), brothers Carl Jr. and George (widow Ruth), son-in-law Tom Riley and brother-in-law James Stanley. Family and friends are invited to gather for the Funeral Mass 11 am Monday June 15 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd. Gates Mills, Ohio 44040.
