It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Louise Rusher, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on June 18, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 29, 1943, in Bedford, Ohio, Jean lived a life filled with love, faith, and cherished memories.
Jean was the devoted wife of Donald D. Rusher, and together they created a nurturing home filled with joy and laughter. She was a loving mother to her children, including her late sons, Donald Jr. and James. Jean's spirit continues to shine through her daughters, Kimberly Russell (Scott) and Lisa King (Tom), who carry forward her values of kindness and compassion.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Bernice Lambrecht and Donald Menary. As a sister, Jean was a steadfast support to her siblings: Jeanette (deceased), Robert (Kathy), Joyce (Donald), and Jacquelyn (Bill). Her family was her greatest treasure, and she took immense joy in being a grandmother to Amber, Matthew, Dylan, Alexandra, Haleigh, Blake, and Paige, as well as a great-grandmother to Jayden, Alivia, Aubree, Joel, Skylar, and Landon. Jean's heart was full as she created lasting memories with her grandchildren, whether through baking delicious treats, enjoying bike rides, or sharing stories in her garden.
A woman of deep faith, Jean was very active in her church, Lutheran of the Covenant, where she found community and purpose. Her love for God was evident in her daily life, and she inspired those around her with her unwavering faith, kindness, and welcoming spirit. Jean was known for her non-judgmental nature, providing a place of peace and comfort to all her loved ones.
Jean had a passion for gardening, where she found solace and beauty in nurturing her plants, and she was an avid reader, often losing herself in the pages of her favorite books. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met.
A celebration of Jean's life will be held on Monday, June 23rd, at 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Covenant, located at 19000 Libby Road, Maple Heights, Ohio. All who knew and loved her are invited to join in honoring her remarkable spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Lutheran of the Covenant.
Jean Louise Rusher will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her unwavering love, joyful spirit, and the countless lives she enriched throughout her journey. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave and the faith she held dear.
