Jill D. Davis

Everyone who crossed paths with our beloved Jill knows that her love, light, smile and spirit were contagious. After an initial battle with cancer in her 20’s she was called to become a nurse. Jill spent her life raising a family, completing her Master’s degree and living life to the fullest. Her passion, her love and her empathy for others shined through her years working as a nurse, cancer research nurse and educator.

The simplest pleasures in life brought her the greatest joys–her husband, her boys, her family and her friends. She was selfless, generous, kind and faithful. She loved the beach, could often be found with a glass of wine in hand and enjoyed her last couple of years relaxing on the patio of her new home in Highland Heights, Ohio. Jill was a warrior and an inspiration as she battled through a second bout of cancer for the last couple years and became involved in a clinical study so others could learn from her. For many years Jill has been involved in the Race for the Place (The Gathering Place), Outrun Ovarian Cancer, The American Brain Tumor Association, and many more. She passed away at home, her hands held, and surrounded by love.

She is survived by her husband, Brian; sons Andrew and Alex; parents Fred and Sandra (nee Bussey) Gartner; sister Alison Gartner Giunta (Mickael Giunta); aunt Linda Tinelli Bergles (John Bergles); cousins Jim, Jennie and Joe Bergles; father and mother in-law Phil and Cindy (nee Jaye) Davis; sister-in-law Stephanie; niece Kiara P. Giunta and nephew Brandon Moses.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 12pm-4pm with service at 4pm, at Dicicco and Sons in Mayfield Hts., Ohio. In lieu of flowers please consider supporting Hospice of the Western Reserve. They were instrumental in Jill’s last weeks of peace and comfort for which her family will be forever grateful.

We had the privilege of knowing Jill as we attended the same church. She was a wonderful soul with a smile on her face at all times. She will be missed by many but we are comforted knowing she is pain free with our Lord and Savior.

I only met Jill once when she attended a Women’s Retreat with her Mom and I knew that she was something special. When she found out my husband passed from Cancer she gave me a big hug and told me how sorry she was.

To her Husband, Boys, Mom & Dad and family my heart is broken for you all. How blessed you all were to have such amazing woman in your lives. May God bless you all as you grieve her loss.

See you Heaven one day Jill.

So sorry for the loss of a such a special person.

From the time our children started kindergarten together years ago, we have been blessed to call Jill our friend. She always could bring a smile to our face with her humor or lift us up with her grace. Jill shared her love for Jesus with us. Thank you our beautiful friend from each one of us here at the Ricchiuto household for always sharing your love and kindness.
Brian, Alex, Andrew and family we are so very sorry.
Mathew 25:21 'Well done, you good and faithful servant!' said his master. 'You have been faithful in managing small amounts, so I will put you in charge of large amounts. Come on in and share my happiness!'

My dearest Jilly,

Your loss has left a hole in my heart that will forever be there. I’m so blessed to call you one of my best friends for the last several decades and will cherish all the memories we shared.

Your strength, courage, and faith shined even in the midst of illness. I’m going to miss you so much, but promise to keep your legacy alive.

Until we meet again, I know that I’ll have an angel watching over me. I love you. RIP
