

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the recent passing of JoAnn Erich, a woman of deep faith, tremendous energy, generous spirit, infectious sense of humor, and unwavering integrity. She always lit up any room with her beautiful blue eyes and engaging smile.
JoAnn was born in St. Marys, PA to William and Marie (Schlimm) Erich. After a courageous five-year battle with cancer, she passed away at Hillcrest Hospital ICU in Mayfield Heights, OH surrounded by her devoted husband and loving family.
She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in St. Marys, Class of 1960. In 1988 she graduated cum laude from Notre Dame College in Cleveland, OH with a degree in Marketing. She retired from the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute in June 2008, having worked as executive assistant to Hilel Lewis, MD, Chairman.
JoAnn loved to travel and had many adventures throughout the United States, Europe, and the Holy Land.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Wayne Erich and William (Sarah) Erich.
She is survived by her husband, James Edward Luther of Cleveland, and sisters Kathleen Wood of Port Richey, FL, and Christine Meier (Chuck), of DuBois, PA, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
There will be no public visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date in St. Marys, PA and burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
