 Joe and I were classmates at Cathedral Latin School. We hung around together a lot. One of my  fondest  memories of Joe was when he donned  a lion’s costume  for the charity game at the stadium between the Latin Lions and Saint Ignatius.  Even then he had class.

It came as quite the shock to learn that the world had lost such a wonderful compassionate man. I called the office for an emergency this week and thought I misunderstood what had been told to me. Dr. Joe gave me a wonderful smile that gets compliments....just recommended him to someone last week. He has been our family dentist since our return from Florida 12 years ago. May Dr. Joe rest in peace! Our prayers to his family. We will miss him!

I first went to Dr. Lonardo for an emergency filling and I will always remember how he was very patient with me as we tried to get my tooth numb enough to drill when I was especially sensitive in 2005.  I had gone to him several other times over the years and he always had a friendly smile and genuinely asked me how I was when he entered the room. The news of Joey's passing has come as quite a shock to me and my family. Not only was he my dentist many years ago, he was a dear friend to us all at my families restaurant at Amico's. This is so surprising. He just pulled one of my wisdom teeth like 3 weeks ago. He was also my dad and uncle's dentist! He's been our family dentist for 40+ years. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Called the emergency dentist # @44 years ago on a Sunday with a tooth ache. Dr. Lonardo called me and set up an appointment at 5 pm.,that day at his Biddulph office. My memory is of him pulling up in his Caddy, getting out, wearing a leather trench coat, sun glasses, Sat night fever cool, before it happened. He was good people, became my dentist that day, until we moved to Fl. in 1988. Joe, you will be missed, the good ones always are.
