

Karen Richter, a lifelong resident of Mayfield Heights, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026. Karen dedicated many years of her life as a teacher with Mayfield City Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students with her patience, kindness, and commitment to education. Karen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. There was nothing she cherished more than spending time with her beloved son, Michael, and doting on her grandchildren, Sean and Caitlin, and her great-grandson, Julian. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love created a legacy that will live on in each of them. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harvey; her twin brother, Kevin; and her nephew, Kevin. She is now reunited with them in eternal peace. Karen is survived by her loving son, Michael; her grandchildren, Sean and Caitlin; her great-grandson, Julian; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial for family and friends will be held Thursday, April 9 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clare Church in Mayfield Heights, followed by interment. Karen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her deep devotion to family, her passion for teaching, and the countless moments of love she shared with those closest to her. She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory in their hearts always. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
