Laura F. Ross

May 17, 1949January 4, 2021

Laura Francis Coughenour Ross.

Age 71. Beloved child of the late Ethel and Miles Coughenour; loving mother of Rebecca and Joseph Ross; wife of William Ross; grandmother of Josie, Sophie, Layla and Lucy Ross; Sister of Pat, Tim and Joellen Coughenour; friend of many. Laura ended her long fought battle with lung disease in the peaceful surroundings of the Hospice House of Western Reserve on the shores of Lake Erie. She was a strong warrior until her final day. Laura grew up in Barberton, spent many years raising her children in Green and her later years in Pepper Pike. She will be remembered by her family as a strong, kind, caring, sassy, spunky, straight-talking, bull-headed, whole-hearted woman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests tribute donations to the American Lung Association and the Hospice of Western Reserve. At this time, the family plans to have a service for Laura in the Spring when we can gather outdoors.

Our family has lost a treasure. When I think of Cousin Laura I will always smile. She was so much fun and we spent a life time making memories. One memory sticks out the most in my head is the family was playing softball at a family reunion and Laura tackled my husband that was rounding third. Of course he was like the rest of us he adored her; so we all laughed like crazy. God Bless her family that will miss her and cherish the memories she has left them with. Prayers and hugs.

I am so sorry for your loss. Laura was a one of a kind lady who didn’t tolerate anyone’s BS but did it with class. She taught me how to be strong business woman in a male dominated industry and how to drink a proper margarita!
My favorite memory of her was being at a boat show dinner with almost 20 people and her telling all the guys drinking beers at the table to, “grow a set”, and have a real drink like us ladies. It was rounds of patron silver, up no salt from that point on for the whole table. Just like she liked them. She was a truly special lady who will be missed.

Laura will be sorely missed by all, but especially by all of the cousins that grew up together in the Good Ol days!! We always spent time together growing up! All the Family get togethers & especially the Family Picnics! Those memories will never be lost! She was met at the gates by her Mom & Dad, both sets of Grandparents & Ralph & all her Uncles &Aunts!
