In 2012 I was introduced to Lloyd and Sheila. I was painfully shy and quiet but, with the help of Jehovah’s spirit and the Hillcrest congregation I eventually warmed up and Hillcrest became my home and the congregation became my family.  Lloyd and Shelia was a HUGE part helping me overcoming my shyness. Lloyd ALWAYS took a moment to say. “ Hey Leena, How are you?” and I knew a hug was coming. There wasn’t anything to big or small I couldn’t discuss with him. He made a lifelong impact  on me and my children Brandon and Giana. But I want to share two moments that ALWAYS left an impression on my heart.  The  first memorable moment was when I was going to be baptized in 2015, I was talking to Lloyd and he asked me what my goals are. I was so excited for my baptism that I didn’t give an answer right away and he said  “Remember baptism  is not the end it’s just the beginning” and what a beginning it had been for me and my kids ( pioneering, my kids baptism approaching, our family’s first Bethel trip and more).The second memorable moment was when Lloyd asked my son Brandon and I to assist him for the Watchtower portion of our circuit Assembly. I was so surprised I cried  because I always prayed to Jehovah since I was a child to have a part any part on the program and Jehovah answered my prayers.  My son Brandon has went out in service with Lloyd  and  Brandon still tells me  advice and preaching techniques  he had learned  from Lloyd. Even shy Gigi  has great memories of Lloyd trying to get he to talk more in conversations  but the only response he received was a smile and shoulder shrug. 
  I look forward to hearing Lloyd saying “Hello Leena, how are you?” Brandon looks forward to  helping Lloyd building Or fixing something for friends. When I asked Gigi she still smiled and shrugged her shoulders but she said she would like to talk more to him .We both began to cry  then she said  “it’s  ok  mom It’s JUST AROUND THE CORNER” . 

Lloyd was a very special person that I will miss very much! I especially loved his infectious laugh, great big hugs and that he was one of only four people I allowed to call me by my childhood nickname and I loved him for it! I’m so grateful to have had him in my life and know that he is safe in Jehovah’s memory. I can’t wait to see him again soon in paradise and get another one of those hugs! When I told my son Oliver the sad news and asked if he would like to make a card for Sheila, he was eager to. We got our crayons to draw a picture of Lloyd and Sheila and our family reunited in paradise and he said “wait, we have to say a prayer first!” He told Jehovah that we missed Lloyd very much and that we are waiting to see him again soon when Jehovah wakes him up in paradise. Needless to say, we really look forward to the time when John 5:28, 29 is fulfilled and we can see our friend Lloyd again!

Sheila Rob and I want to extend our heartfelt condolences in the loss of Lloyd. We remember when we first met you all at Hillcrest Cong while visiting Charles & Deb. We remember you all inviting us into your home to meet and socialize and listen to good music. This loss was such a shock and we will always remember Lloyd and your loving kindness, hospitality and encouragement. We'll remember Lloyd encouraging Rob as he was studying and finding his relationship with Jehovah. Our hearts break for you. We'll continue to plead with our dear Father Jehovah to comfort you and all of Lloyd' family both physical and spiritual as you go through this tough process of grieving. Please know we may not be in Cleveland now but we carry our memories of you and Lloyd in our hearts. We look forward to welcoming him back in the resurrection with you. Love the Essex Family.

Apologies I’m not good with words in these situations, but I am so sorry to hear about Brother Parks!
I loved Brother Parks’ talks and they always kept me engaged, as I began my journey for knowledge about Jehovah and the truth.
He (and you) was always so encouraging and nice to me and he had such a quiet, gentle disposition, that he always reminded me of a smiling teddy bear… he made an impact on me, whether he knew it or not.
So I just wanted to offer my condolences as well, and let you know that you, both of your families & everyone in the congregation are in my thoughts & prayers and I’m very happy to know that when the time is right, you’ll see him again.

Working with Lloyd the past couple years has been a very enlightening experience. He has been a inspiration to many people he has touched with his vast knowledge and patience. Anyone that has had the pleasure of working on any issue with Lloyd has learned lessons that will help them continue in a career that Lloyd cherished.  I will miss him as a coworker but more importantly as a great friend. In his passing I have met many of his good friends and family and we all together celebrated his wonderful life. 
He will be watching over us with that great smile. 

I had the privilege to work with Lloyd in service and found out that he and his wife had served in Asia; specifically South Korea. I had a wonderful opportunity to serve there as a need greater so we all had a “kimchi” connection. Hearing their stories of service around the world was something I always cherished. What a wonderful example they set of putting Kingdom interests first in their lives! They have such a beautiful  legacy to share with others now and in the new system to come. 

We love you Lloyd (Chip). You are in Jehovah's (arms ) His memory.  We look forward to the day when our tears will be one of JOY!!  Sheila you are in our prayers. He will make you strong.

Dear Sheila,

We are deeply sorry about the loss of Lloyd. We felt our hearts crush into tiny little bits and couldn’t stop our tears when we heard about the sudden and untimely passing away of your dear husband.  

We can’t imagine the sadness you must be feeling from your loss. He was truly an incredible man, full of love, sincerity and joy. He will be immensely missed. 

Please know that we’re thinking of you during this sad time.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Words simply cannot capture our feelings of losing  Lloyd. We fondly treasure our memories of just simply sitting and enjoying meaningful conversations by the fireplace.  Lloyd always had something profound to say between cat naps.  He never left a dance floor intact which was always such a joy to watch and a challenge to try to keep up with him. Knowing he is in the most secure place imaginable, Jehovah's memory, gives us comfort beyond comprehension.  What a wonderful day it will be when we all just relax together again.

I still remember seeing Chip doing all the line dances at Wayland & Vanessa's wedding. He was one smooth brother on the dance floor!! To Sheila & the rest of Chip's family- we're praying that Jehovah, the God of all comfort, comforts you in your time of profound sadness.

Dear Sheila,

We are sadden to hear that Lloyd felt asleep in death. We are shocked by the news, especially since we just saw you both in July at the international convention in Toronto. 

We will remember Lloyd for his jovial disposition, and of course his unforgettable laughter.

I recall a simple, but powerful point a brother made in a memorial talk. He said: "Death is like pushing the PAUSE button, and the resurrection is the PLAY  button." So, even though we are sadden right now, we can look forward to the day when Jesus will push the play button for all those asleep in God's memory, like Lloyd. "Jesus will call and he will answer."

Joel and I wanted you and rest of  Lloyd's family to know we are praying for you all. May you take comfort in the fond memories you shared with your dear husband and in the comfort from the Scriptures. (Ps. 68:19, 20)

I came from New York to Cleveland, it was a major change in my life. A necessary one for me to meet best friend, Lloyd Parks Jr. Talking about his time in New York sharing the good news in areas I knew made me comfortable enough to become friends. Over the years I've had 8 major surgeries. He was with me through them all. When I  struggled with depression he always had a word or scripture to lift my spirits. Never did I think I would read in front of people, but because of his confidence and mild temperament I did just that at a Circuit Assembly. When I talked to him about my fear of publicly preaching he told me "come with me and I will show you how easy it is to do God's work".  Having Lloyd Parks Jr. in my life enriched it in ways for which I will be forever grateful. Hoping to see and serve with my friend at the resurrection. 

Dear Sheila,

George and I would like to offer our condolences.  It still feels unreal, and the tears still flow.  Our father Jehovah provides us with the hope of the resurrection and that helps provide us with comfort.

Over the years you and Chip have provided those you preached  to with the option of remaining in the “darkness “ or listen to the message that provides the  “light “ that song number 77 “ Light in a Darkened World “ talks about.

While Chip sleeps, we  want you to know that we will be praying for you.

All small day to day issues, pains and minor inconveniences become trivial when you realize that someone so gifted and loved, is asleep.  

I grew up with the Parks family as my family and their home as a respite from chaos.

Chip was my little brother and his sister was my best friend.  His mother and father helped mold my thinking and were kind to my family and I.

My little brother, Eric, was a playmate and friend to Chip.  Now both are not with us. 

When Mommy called with the sad news, all I could say was:  Why are the baby boys leaving us?

For me, thanks are in order.  Thank you Brother and Sister Parks (Sr.) for the Theocratic wisdom and principles and family that I have reflected on throughout my life.

I love you all.

May Jehovah comfort his wife, family and friends through this time.












Chip my brother loved him like a brother he used to take me play basketball growing up he was always friendly ,laughing a good man Will be missed

Lloyd was a great brother to many ay local seventeen. I remember the day he came into start working, He was happy and confident. He will be missed. 

Sheila and Lloyd were loved and cherished regulars at J Alexander’s restaurant. We welcomed them like family and Lloyd was always smiling and gracious. He was a walking message of faith and love and I will carry that with me always. Love you,  Sheila. 

Spent some years working with him in our Schindler days and then later in life at Otis. Lloyd was a sincere, honest, and thoughtful man! It was a honor spending time with him! God speed my brother! 

So many memories of my big brother and Shelia. I remember when I got baptized Sheila and Lloyd were sitting right in the front row and when I walked passed you both smiled, said congratulations and I heard Lloyd say I’m proud of you.  Another memory that always makes me chuckle is when I told Shelia I was officially dating and she said you know you have to tell your brother. So I tried to tell Lloyd and run...let’s just say my running was equal to one of Lloyd’s steps and he grabbed me by my collar to make sure he heard me right. Then you all met Sean and loved him. That was so precious to me and meant the world to me. I’m so broken hearted that Lloyd is gone and I have been crying every day. But I do know that 1. Lloyd is getting some good sleep now and 2. He would want us to do what we should do in Jehovah’s eyes so we can all see each other again.  Lloyd and Shelia have been a big part of my life since I was 20 and then our lives when from the time we started dating. I love you my big brother and I can’t wait to see you again to hug you and tell you everything. Shelia Sean and I love you so much and you are in our prayers and thoughts. May Jehovah comfort us all through this trying time and be with us for we are all broken hearted (2 Corinthians 1:3&4 and Ps. 34:18&19).

It’s really hard to believe that I’m going to walk into our congregation and not see Lloyd’s face and big hugs to greet me. I will miss him so much. He really took the time to care for each person in the congregation, and he became my friend. Nothing he did was surface level, he loved the congregation deeply, because he loved Jehovah deeply. He gave me great advice and he really made a point to check in on me. I felt so comfortable talking with him because he was so warm and he could tell when something was on my mind before I could get it out. I could truly feel Jehovah’s love for me through him. He’s helped me so much to stay focused. I cannot wait to see him again and give him the tightest hug! Also a few months ago Lloyd got me an emergency tool kit for my car, and just a couple days ago I had to use the jumper cables from that kit. Lloyd is even still helping me now. Thank you for everything brother Parks, I love you and I’ll see you later! 

Sheila, I love you. I will be praying to Jehovah that he continues to comfort you and give you endurance. You are so strong and amazing, you help me to be strong and you show me what it means to rely on Jehovah. I am so grateful to have you in my life as my friend. I can’t wait to welcome Lloyd back with you. 

Having you both in my life was a blessing from Jehovah. 

We only got to know Lloyd (since nicknames were not permitted at Bethel, where we met Lloyd, we never knew him as Chip) through Shiela when we visited Bethel.
Shiela and her family were a big part of my life when we were all new in the Truth in Chagrin Falls Cong.    She was a little girl and I was a young adult.  She was always special to me.
When we visited Shiela and Lloyd at Bethel, it was easy to see why she fell in love with him.  He was a big teddy bear.  His love for Jehovah and Shiela shined through him.  Because they showed us such kindness and hospitality, the time with them was a high light of our time at Bethel.
We were excited that they were moving back “home” from Bethel.  We hoped to see them more often but life serving Jehovah is always busy.  We never made time to see them more often than just running into each other at an Assembly or Convention.

We haven’t known Lloyd a long time. Just since last winter. But in that time he has truly touched our lives. He is a dear and special brother. We appreciate so much his love, kindness, hospitality and humor. We really had so much fun with him and enjoyed spending time with him and Sheila. They welcomed us into their home and took care of us having never met us before. He is an excellent example as a spiritual man, and  in working hard for Jehovah and we were so encouraged by all his experiences. There is so much that I want to remember and learn from his example to imitate his many wonderful qualities. I look forward very much to riding with him the elevator he builds in Jehovah’s new world.

I am so sad to hear the news of Lloyd’s passing. It’s been a long time since we were in the same congregation (Delmonico). I have thought of you two often.  One of my standout memories of Lloyd was when he helped  dig my car out after a blizzard we had in NY. He was the one who helped me know I should be shoveling snow when it’s still soft before the car gets packed in. He was sure one nice guy. We will wait with you and support you with prayers until he awakens in paradise. We send our love. 

Lloyd was like a spiritual father to me. He taught me a great deal. He helped me work up my first public talk. In doing so, he helped me illustrate what a loving Heavenly creator we serve. I’ll never forget how much he focused on spiritual things all through the day. He was a good shepherd! There were times when I was very close to leaving a privilege I dearly loved, and it was on those occasions he would encourage me to remember that I was making Jehovah proud in my assignment and that was the most important thing. I have been proud to pass on many of the things Lloyd taught me through the years! But even after all that I think it was his sense of humor I loved the most! He could get me laughing more than anyone I know! I hope one day I can mean to someone what Lloyd meant to me. He will be greatly missed! We all look forward to seeing the big guy again!

Been a year at Hillcrest congregation and when I met Br and Sis Parks ..said they had been in the Philippines  where I just came from for 2months, but from Gilroy ,California .There warm personality immediately made me felt at home  since just merged. I only know one family the Silvas .But talking to Br Parks...lately before Pioneer school in Aug...He said ..Sis Larioza when you finish PSS  I would like you to share new things you all learned.Sadly never had the chance to share.He is a loving ,caring brother to us in Hillcrest Congregation. I will and  we will surely miss him.He is in Jehovah's memory.Till then in the New World soon..My condolences to the family.

Lloyd was so much more than our loving shepherd, he although younger than us, was our big brother! Everything he did was out of his love for, one Jehovah, and  second, love for the Brotherhood!
He made you feel safe, and truly cared for. 
There is a large hole in our lives until we are all reunited in the paradise soon to come!
I personally thank Jehovah for the gift of our dear brother Lloyd, being a part of our lives. 
Sheila we love you so much, and will always be here for you, and our non-stop prayers go out to you and all the family.

From the Foley family. Lloyd parks jr was the best IUEC Elevator constructor I have ever met. Lloyd taught myself and many helpers exactly how to safely work on elevators and escalators. Most importantly he taught us about doing things the RIGHT way or not doing them at all. Lloyd taught the future mechanics and my best friends in IUEC Local 17 how to be a elevator constructors. 
He will be missed greatly.

Lloyd was truly a “big tree of righteousness “ as Isaiah 61:3 says “And they will be called big trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, in order to glorify him.” Being in Lloyd’s presence was a happy and comforting place to be. We love you Sheila. You and your whole family are in our prayers for Jehovah to comfort you and grant you peace.  This picture is from our going away party that Lloyd and you helped to organize in May of 2015. Our hearts are broken. We can’t wait to see Lloyd and all our loved ones who have died in the very near future in God’s new world so close at hand.
