Another birthday will be here August 24th.  You would have been 90, but it was not meant to be.  I continue to miss you ever so much.  We were up to your grave not too long ago and met Jan Jan there.  Jan brought some lovely flowers and we weeded and cleaned up by your stone.  We spent some time praying and missing you.  Some special flowers will be placed on your Birthday.  We miss you so!!! You are in our heart's always and we hold to the HOPE when we will be reunited with you forever. Dearest Marge,It has been a sincere blessing to me to share my thoughts and my prayers as my dearest of the dearest best friend Mary and your daughter traveled this journey.My mother will be in heaven 5 years on December 11 and the tears still fall.Our Lord had it planned that Mary and I would always be there for one another and we have a way of understanding each others hearts.I love your daughter Marge,she is my sister and I thank Jesus for her everyday.What a year it has been but I know both of you see us and are grateful that we love Jesus.We put our complete trust in him as we go forward and heal in the best way we know how.Thank you Lord for your eternal love for our mothers as we would love to hear their voice one more time.Just one more time.For now,we will listen with our hearts and continue our beautiful friendship as you would have us to do.Faithful we shall be until we are reunited again.Thank you Moms and we will love you forever.Norma

My final entry in this dear and cherished legacy book. August 24 came and went.  Angel Mom's Birthday.  We placed 18 lovely rainbow roses at her grave in August.  Mom would have loved these!!!  Margie and Jan sat at Mom's grave and brought flowers on her actual birthday!!

Then, the first year anniversary of Mom's passing, September 12th came.  I continue on in my Griefshare   study and group.  The goal--FROM MOURNING TO JOY.  I have a ways to go.

A few other dear friends have passed away in September.  Dr. and Mrs. Sawaya both passed away on September 12--Angel Mom's date.  Dr. in 2005.  His dear wife this year,2011.  Then, dear Pat Jones, a very special friend, left this earth on September 16, 2011.  What a wrenching month!!! Hard to handle all of this.

A happy occasion did happen on this month, however.  Thirty-one of us went to Orlando and shared Don's Dad, Willard's 90th birthday with him.  It was a sweet and fun-filled party and a real nice reunion of family and friends.

Thank you, dear Lord, for You are caring and loving and blessing dear Angel Mom, Norma's sweet Mom, Elsie, these dear friends as mentioned earlier in this writing; all these plus countless others are in the shelter of your wings.  They are in endless bliss savoring in Your Presence FOREVER. How they are missed down here!!
Yet,one day...we will be reunited.

I am writing one more entry.  I KNOW God is FAITHFUL and as HE HEALS me each and every month and year that will pass by that more and more and more precious and joyful memories will be the ones that truly will remain.
I am still locked in my grief and You, dear Lord, are working with me.  I am in Griefshare Bible Study with others who have suffered loss, and these classes should prove to be a big help in assisting me to move forward.
I just have to TRUST in the GOODNESS of the LORD.  Thankyou, Lord Jesus

Dear Lord Jesus  Thankyou for continuing to carry me each and everyday as they pass.  We are at 10 whole months since my darling Angel Mom has passed and I continue to miss her so very much.  I can hear her sweet voice in my mind but I truly miss being able to talk directly with her and hearing her sweet laugh and the wisdom this dear soul had on so 
many subjects.  What an intelligent Mother I was blessed with.  I miss our times of prayer together and the comfort that comes from a loving Mother to daughter.

I so enjoyed and was so blessed to read my cherished Best Friend's latest 2 entries.  What a lovely woman she is and we support each other in the great loss of our precious Mothers.  It would be even harder for us if we did not have each other and God in His Sovreign Goodness saw to it that we would be here at this time for each other.  How I look forward when we will be together all the time as neighbors and best friend's when we retire in Northern Florida.  

Help me and Norma, dear Lord to carry on--to smile at the good memories you have given us about our Mother's and to cry about all the hard daily times in missing them.

I hope to visit dear Angel Mom's grave very soon.  I ask your kindness in strengthening me--for though Mom's resting place is lovely and a place of serenity and peace, it also brings heartache and tears.  I trust You to help me and carry me.

You are Faithful, my Lord and the true solace Norma can have and I can have is in KNOWING our dear Mothers are safe in Your Loving Arms--no more pain for them.  No more tears or heartache for them.  But perfect peace.  Thankyou, dear Lord.  Amen--Mary

Mothers are everything for us when we are small...our lives revolve around her. For everything that we need we call mother. To protect us from all perceivable dangers we want her around us. To take us out we hold her arms. To kiss away our wounds we run to her. And for a warm hug and love we look for her. She is the focal point of our lives, the greatest human being in the world or should we say divinity on earth. I did not know Margie, who I called Grandma, when I was a child, but I have all the fond memories as if I knew here when I was a child.

Summer will be a beautiful time at All Soul's Cemetery.  The heat of the sun will give warmth to the earth.  Flowers will bloom, birds will sing.  The rain will dance all around and the wind will sing its soft whispers as it meanders around to and fro.  The big tree will offer your place shade and lovely birds will nest in its branches.
I will be so blessed to see it and experience it when I come to visit, reflect, pray.

A Blessed Mother's Day to my beautiful ANGEL MOM!!  You are wearing a new .white gown white as snow and I wonder what our Lord is having you do now in your new permanent residence!!!  I can only imagine!!  Whatever it is, IT IS PERFECT.  At this time, both your dear Sis, Elaine and Norma, dear Best Friend, are truly enjoying your dresses I sent to them.  I am so thankful all 3 of us have one to cherish.  I keep the lovely purple one I have in my Hat Box, grieving box. 
Norma and I purchased a permanent flower holder to remain at your gravesite year round.  It is a gray one and will look like silver refined.  It will be placed there one day this coming week. What a gal Norma is!!  She is sooooo amazing and a lovely Best Friend!!  Now flowers can be placed in it all the time.  I had Semeranos place a sweeet Mother's Day bouquet in a vase at your grave in time for this wonderful holiday.  It has pink carnations, bakers fern and fugi mums and I am sure it is lovely.  We had some heavy rain and I hope the good Lord protected it.  I also can order directly from Semeranos to purchase weekly or bimonthly flowers for your flower holder!!  I feel I will do the bimonthly plan and come up once each month as possible, and bring my own flowers.  It is so good to come and visit your grave.  I miss you so!!!  My healing goes on.  There is never any closure.  The Lord renews strength and carries me on the extra hard days -- some days are extremely difficult.  He wipes away each and every tear.  He gives me HOPE  for I will see you again!
 I loved reading all the precious sentiments from my girls and from Norma written this past week and on today on this memorial site.  Love letters to you. How special each greeting is. How loving!!
Our Don celebrated his 61st birthday today and you would be pleased to see how well he has been taking care of his health!!  He exercises each day and tries to watch better what he eats.
Easter Sunday was a lovely day, but we missed you.  What a joyful celebration you had up in Heaven!!!!!
On April 22, Don and I had our 39th wedding anniversary.  We are planning a fine trip to celebrate near May's end.  
There may be someone who is interested in buying your home at this time.
Also, your lovely gravestone has been ordered.  It will be pink/red granite and should be stunning when placed in its spot and new grass planted as well.  The big 'ol tree is getting its spring leaves, as it awakens from its slumber from a long, hard winter.  The birds are singing and hatching their chicks and the sun is shining.

I light a candle today for it has been six whole months since you have been gone when March 12 came by.  The days and months are slipping by ever so quickly.  Time is elusive.  Life is a vapor.  Yet, while we are here in this frame, we are to make the MOST of LIFE and be all that God would desire us to be and be a blessing to others for HIS GLORY. I am so thankful God has spared you of all the tragedy going on in His world today.  Turmoil in Libya with patriots fighting for FREEDOM and a most horrible and devastating earthquake and tsunami in beautiful Japan.  You would be having floods of tears if you were seeing all this on our news.  God in His goodness, surely has spared you of it all.  We weep down here.  Norma, my cherished best friend has had soooo many likenesses and ties in some of our most ordinary of situations and circumstances.  God uses each tie to bind us together as sisters in Him.  In a picture I took when I was at your home 12-18-10, I noticed your "pink slippers" were still in the room.  Norma said they were exactly the   same slippers she has--they could have been her slippers!  Then, the old chest with doors in my old bedroom matched just what her dear Mother, Elsie had had!!  Norma misses her dear Mother, too.  You are buried in ALL SOUL'S CEMETERY and precious Elsie Noble Shillingford, Norma's Mom, who passed away 12-11-2006 is buried in SEOULE CEMETERY.  Her birthday was 1-9-1921.  She lived to be 85 years old.  You were in Hillcrest Hospital for your surgery and last emergency and Norma's Dad was in a Hillcrest Hospital in S. Carolina, illl with cancer.  Janet lives in Willowick, Ohio and Norma & Barry's first home together as a married couple was at Willowick Apartments!!  What unique, awesome and most unusual ties.  God knew it all along and He uses all these to unite us even closer together to support and encourage one another in our sorrows and joys.  God is so good to us.  So, today, I light this candle for you and for Elsie.  I am so thankful both of you are in perfect peace--no more suffering!  Praise to our Lord!!  All of your children have signed for a realtor to sell your  home.  So, your home is now on the market.  Your grave
site is in need of some good work and will be taken care of this Spring.  More dirt will be added and new grass grown--it will be lovely this Summer.  I will visit often.  Loving and Missing you so.xoxoxoxo

Good evening, precious Angel Mom.  To-
morrow I turn my calendar to a new month-the month of Spring--March.  We've had a long,cold winter and surely will welcome Spring bursting forth.  New life!!  So much meaning not only as things come alive in the garden, but spiritually--so           profound!!  
Before I turn my calendar page I wanted to tell you I missed you at Valentine's Day this year and wanted to write and tell you "YOU HAVE MY HEART DEAR VALENTINE."  God's Valentine to you is John 3:16.  Indeed! You are in His Heart and He is the Heart of it all!  To be in the presence of our Lord and Savior--to be with Almighty God for eternity!!  What a hope.  What a gift.
You are ever loved down here, my love and so greatly missed.  You have been gone 5 months now.  It is hard to fathom you'll be gone a whole half a year when March 12th comes around.  I so miss hearing your sweet voice.
I will close for now my Valentine.  Your home is getting real close to being on the market at this time.  One day someone will move in to love your home as you did and bring some joy into the house once again.  There is sure to be laughter and life again in special 1111 Hansford Road. A blessed New Year,dear Mother--2011.  It is Sunday, 1-9-2011 and how I have missed you so over the holidays.  Now both you and Grandma Pat are gone.  Oh!  How we feel the loss of your presence, even tho you are with us in Spirit.  The tears still flow and the void is ever-felt in the heart.  You had your first Christmas with JESUS this past 2010--AMAZING GRACE!!  I wish you could come down here and share it all with me.  I can only imagine!!  We did have a blessed Christmas season and I know you were indeed with us but I still miss your sweet voice and wisdom!!  You always gave me such guidance.  Donny and I went up to your grave mid-December and there was sooo much snow.  We had to guess at your site.  We saw the great CROSS and the fine sturdy barren tree--what a lovely Fall its leaves must have shed over your grave with gorgeous yellows, reds and oranges and great shade over your grave this past Fall.  Now the great tree is barren but strong limbs like arms spread out nearby your resting place.  The barren tree is like my barren heart at times-- sooo lonely and missing you!!! We placed a sweet wreath that had a glass angel holding a little golden Christmas tree at the wreath's top for you--ANGEL MOM.  Donny anchored it in the snow, but the winds are so strong up there and we hope they did not blow it away.  We saw many Xmas decorations all over the area from loved ones who came to place a wreath, a small Xmas tree, a cross, some flowers, other Xmas decorations in memory of  their missed dear one's and even the graveyard gave some Xmas JOY and SPIRIT to the whole area in announcing The Lord's Birth to the world!! CHRIST OUR SAVIOR IS BORN!! We stayed only a short time as it was sooooo cold and very windy--but it was so good to be there.  We said God Bless You to folks we saw as they worked to beautify their dear one's spot for CHRISTMAS--even in the snow. They, too, would say 'God Bless you' back to us.  I've since ordered a sweet green cross marker for your spot so we can find it easily in the winter months.  It has your name and vertically says LOVING MOTHER.  The grounds keepers will place my wreath on the crossbeams if it can be found.  I do hope the harsh winter winds did not blow it away.  We will come up again soon.  In a few days you will have been gone 4 months.  How is it that time disappears so very quickly?  I will close for tonight my precious Angel Mom.  I Love you so--Mary

Dearest Angel Mom, GOOD EVENING.  Today is 12-12 and we have our first snowstorm in Columbus.  The snow is so pretty coming down, but it will be more blizzardlike through the night hours and into tomorrow as the temps get into the teens and the wind picks up.  I cannot believe you have been gone three months today.  The time just marches forward.  I have been laps in getting onto this lovely site and I hope to improve.  I hope other family members will type in their special thoughts and memories, too, as it would bless them and those who read them and all works toward your healing work in our heart's.  My sweet best friend, Norma and I talk almost everyday.  She lost her dear Mom on 12-11 a number of years ago and she surely understands all my heartache and sadness in missing you for she of course, still grieves her Mother's loss.  We missed you at Thanksgiving.  We had a fine time at Julie and Mark's home and soooo much food!!!  Mark did his first brining of a turkey and it was delicious!!  You would have loved it!!  Our Laura was married to Rami Jabali on 11-19 in Dubai.  We were so happy to have her here with us for a week in early November.  She and Rami will have another ceremony in Syria where his parents live and finally, one in the US.  Holly likes her apartment-just the right size for her.  She's been in it since the end of September.  Logan is in cheerleading competitions now and doing very well!  We finished all our Christmas decorating today.  Don put some lights around our door and we have lots of lights in our living room and they do brighten my spirits and make the room so inviting and comfortable.  Remember when you would host us all for Christmas and you'de have a lovely huge tree all decorated in the living room and there would be sooooo many fine gifts under the tree.  Janet used to bring tons of gifts to add to your's under the tree and it was always so exciting and fun at your home!!  You would love our living room decorations and I can picture you in the cabriole  chair sitting there taking in all the lights and Christmas spirit as you sip on a cup of hot apple-cranberry cider.  Christmas will be so very different and hard without you, my luv.  I have special gifts for the fmly. in your remembrance.  In your honor, dear Mom.  I am so glad the good Lord gave me the idea and provided all I needed to get them done!!  I know each recipient will be happy to have the special gift.  That was the most important thing I was working to accomplish this season--for you.  I am anxious to get up to your gravesite.  I hope it won't be too much longer.  I finally have some yellow roses I added to my huge keepsake hat box--it helps so much in my memories and grieving of you.  Dear Don gave me some lovely roses, all kinds of colors for our 40th anniversary of when we met in November.  There were a few yellow roses and of course, I thought of you--my "yellow rose of Texas" and had to dry the yellow ones.  Into the hat box I put 2 and I mailed one to Norma.  She is the greatest friend a girl could ever have!!  She is constantly there for me, Mom and she prays for my healing and strength.  We care for each other across the many miles that separate us.  How I wish we could see one another all the time.  One day, we will be together to celebrate the Christmas holidays in Florida.  And, you will be right there with us and how you will love it.  Thank you, dear Mom for everything you did for me as a child and in my adult life.  I am thankful to God you lived a good 88 years, but I wanted you to live here forever.  You are living forever but in a different land.  A land called Paradise.  Who could ask for anything more.  You are truly HOME and you are with the KING!! Dearest Marge,I have heard it said that music is always "sweeter" after a rest and you and my mother have blessed us here on earth as we remember the wonderful memories and how much Mary and I miss you both.You blessed me with your beautiful daughter Mary,and I know now that it was our Lords heavenly plan.I am not sure if I shared with you when we talked that I never had a sister.I remember being a little girl and playing dress up by myself and wishing with all my heart I had a sister to stand in front of the mirror with me.We both could laugh as we admired ourselves with our shoes too big and our dresses dragging the floor.Just little girls.Your little girls and little did you know that many,many years later they would be Best Friends beyond measure.I thank you for your Mary.I thank you for her faith and the beauty of the Holy Spirit that is present in her everyday.I needed her in my life and our Lord knew that.You and my mother are there in Heaven with our awesome Lord.We miss you.We weep for you.But we will be okay,because of our faith and because we have each other.Thank you so dearly for blessing me in the time that I knew you.Rest well in knowing I will always love her and care about her broken heart.Mine is broken as well,but she has loved me and comforted me when I nedded it the most.So thank you dear Marge and rest well in the loving arms of Jesus.

Good evening, precious Mother.  I know you are safe in the arms of Jesus, but Don and I kept this memorial on for a full year so we and any other family members and friends can continue to write and share special thoughts of you or about you. Or, even write to you.  You are soooo loved!!  This guest book will serve and help me personally in a number of ways.  It will be like a diary I will cherish with all my heart.  It will help me in my continued grieving -- I miss you so very much.  I miss hearing your sweet voice.  I miss our special phone chats.  I miss our laughter together.  I cannot believe you have been gone over a month now.  Time has a way of marching on, no matter what our circumstances.  God gave me special verses for your life.  Revelation 22:1-5.  Mom, they are beautiful and perfect for you.  God is preparing you for a new and eternal ministry!!  That is forever!!  I am sure you are so excited about the Marriage Supper of the Lamb--yet to come.  You always loved weddings and this last one will be the PERFECT one.  The Lord is preparing you for this right now.  Mom, my Best Friend, Norma has been THERE so wonderfully for me.  She has been a support, a listener, a prayer partner.  She has shed tears with me and for me.  She's more than a Best Friend--she's FOREVER. I am so glad you and Norma had a relationship also; by phone conversations and cards, etc.  Norma loves you, too.  So much.  I've been to another funeral since your's, dear Mom.  A fine lady, only 73, named Shirley passed away as she lost her health battle. She CHOSE to stop all treatment and had PEACE with  her decision.  Her loving family and Hospice made sure she was kept in comfort.  She was a neighbor here in the condo development.  At her memorial service, a family member shared how she loved "The Sound of Music" movie and all of a sudden, a  family member arose and began to sing "Doe a deer, a female deer" and then another came up, then another, and another, etc. and they all sang that wonderful song all the way up the scale - they sounded as fine as The Von Trapp family  from the movie.  It was sooooo special and creative!!  At the end of the service, a small door to the outside was opened and bagpipes played to fill the room with "Amazing Grace" and many, including myself, welled up in tears.  It was then, that I began to think of the void in my heart with you gone.  I will soon be  going to another funeral as a dear man named Jack (who also lives in a condo here) is losing his health battle with disease. He is getting weaker by the day.  I have spent time going over to visit and now he is sleeping more and more each day.  So, it has been very rough these last few months.  Through the fog and the ashes, our God gives HOPE and PROMISES to cling on to.  Thank you, dear Mom, for sharing your FAITH with me.  For teaching me to love JESUS. It is my Faith that is carrying me now, to help me get through this.  The healing will go on the rest of my life.  God will see all of us through.  Good night for now, dear Mom.  All my Love, Mary

I close this guest book as it should by including a message from your last child. Yes, I was last for you in many ways - the last born and the last to hold you in my arms before you died. It is now time to write about our relationship.

I thought of you as a beautiful, flowering plant. When I arrived, you were in full bloom. Your love for me was so great that it allowed me to develop into someone you were proud of. 

As time passed, you lost some of your blooms, but that was okay because I was there to assist you, nurturing you as I was taught. During this time we did everything together. I will always cherish, as you did, the numerous shows, dinners, and trips. Yes, you were my "date" to christmas parties, teaching seminars, and so many other functions that are too numerous to account for. And yes, we went to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Tony's and Tina's Wedding when you were almost 80.

As time proceeded and you lost more of your blooms we weren't able to go out as much, but we did things in the house. Especially going through all your old things. I was traveling back in time with you.

I tried to prepare for your death, but it didn't happened as I imagined. On that day I was fortunate to receive the last petal from the final bloom you had. We closed the book of our life together.

Yes, I was last for you in many ways... But on your funeral I just so happened to be first in back of your casket.

I will love you forever.

Richie’s Eulogy:  Mom’s Funeral September 17th, 2010

Mom was a loving and caring individual devoted to her children’s welfare no matter what the cost.  She was always there for us and always loyal and faithful to Dad.

I remember her always being there for me to as I grew up.  Always loving, always caring, always instructing, and always encouraging.

Like the time when I jumped out of my sister Mary Ann’s bedroom window so I could go outside when I wasn’t supposed to.  And although I did not get hurt, Mom was concerned that I could have and that it was only because of my guardian angel that I did not.  I knew better not to try that again.

Or,

The period of time when I struggled with my grades in elementary school.  Mom made me buckle down and made me read my social studies lesson nightly to her.  My teacher was amazed in how my test scores soared and my overall grade jumped from a “D” to a “B.”  The discipline and confidence Mom taught me would carry me through life.

Or,

The time when I failed my driver’s license exam when hitting the post when parallel parking.  Mom saw how disappointed I was in failing the exam.  Her simple words of “even the greatest people fail sometime” encouraged me and lifted my spirits.  The next time I took that driving test, I passed.

So as brothers and sisters we all knew Mom’s loving and caring heart.  And, everyone who knew her knew that about her as well.  

Mom leaves a legacy of love.  She is love and may we all cherish and live out her legacy of love in caring for our families and each other.



Those who know me know that I like to garden.  In particular, I like to plant flowering bulbs.  A skill I learned from Mom planting tulip bulbs with her in the fall when I was only a young child.

I live in Texas now and I planted rain lilies this spring in my bulb garden.  Rain lilies do not bloom until after it rains.  

Recently it rained and rained in Texas.  So much rain that there was flooding in the surrounding areas of central Texas.  This is a rarity during the hot, dry summers of Texas.  But, the rains did come.

The night Mom passed away, I cried in my sleep and embraced the new morning with tears and mourning from deep within my heart.  It was a beautiful morning after the recent rains had past.  I went out to the yard and my garden. And to my surprise, several rain lilies were in bloom.  They were so beautiful.  They were pink, a color that Mom would surely have cherished.  Within this cluster of blooms was one white rain lily.  That one white rain lily reminded me of Mom.  So pure and white it was, as pure of white as could be, so pure of love was Mom’s heart, pure of love as it could be. 

Those rain lilies were in bloom in tribute and remembrance of Mom’s life and her love for us.  My tears for Mom seemed to me to be like the rains that nourished those rain lilies.

For without the rains (our tears) there are no rain lilies.
Without our tears there is no new joy.
Without passing from this life, there is no new life.

We will miss you Mom.
We love you Mom.
And we will carry out your legacy of love and caring for our families and each other.
And we will always remember you Mom.

Like my brother, I have fond memories of our Meszaros family neighbors while growing up. Your mom was always very sweet to me, and I appreciated that. Having lost both of my parents earlier this year, I can imagine the loss you must feel, and offer my condolences on the passing of your cherished mother.

Janet and Family,
Your mother was such an important figure in my life when we were growing up.  She and your father took such good care of me when my own mother had passed.  They always made sure I had anything I needed.  I loved her very much and even though I only was able to see her every couple of years, I will miss her greatly.  She was a wonderful, sweet, caring and beautiful person.
