MATTHEW M. PALERMO age 81, passed away May 25, 2018. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Moraco) for 59 years. Devoted father of Michael, Ronald (Sheri), Sharon (Bill), Vincent (Kristin). Dear Grandfather of Alexandra, Stephanie, Erika, Michael, Ryan, Noah, Rose, Dominic and Oliver. Preceded In death by his parents, Annette (nee Bitanti) Palermo and Matthew Palermo Sr., his in-laws, Annette (nee Mazza) Moraco and Patsy Moraco, his brother in law, Norman Delsanter, his daughter in law, Linda (nee Caylor) Palermo.
Matt served in the Navy for 2 years then went on to be the first person in his family to obtain a college degree. He graduated from Cleveland State University attending night school for 10 years while working full time and raising a family. He had a successful career as an Accountant and eventually Vice President of Finance. He lived in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Florida. While raising his family, he enjoyed coaching little league baseball, bowling, tennis, and traveling. He retired at age 52 and moved to Florida to enjoy the sunshine. He loved visits from his family, woodworking, and volunteering at the food pantry. He will be missed dearly.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, June 4th at 11:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd, Gates Mills, OH 44040. He will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio. The family will receive friends at DiCicco and Sons Funeral Home, 5975 Mayfield Rd.
