Mayako "Maya" Kobayashi

MAYAKO "Maya" KOBAYASHI, age 70, died in her home surrounded by her family in her Mayfield Village home on February 2nd, 2011. Maya was born in Tokyo, Japan on March 9th, 1940. She is survived by her husband Michihiko, and her two daughters Kayako and Mariko. After completing several levels of formal education, both in Japan and in the United States, Maya was a certified board registered cytotechnologist. She recently received a gold seal from the American Society for Clinical Pathology honoring her ten years of certification as a clinical cytotechnologist and identifying her as a dedicated leader in laboratory medicine. In addition to her passion for education and intellectual stimulation, Maya also loved gardening. She often helped plant flowers to decorate her beloved Worton Park neighborhood. Maya was a loving wife, mother, friend, and neighbor, who touched every being she encountered in her life. A private family service will be held in her honor.
