

MINERVA L. WARD age 96, our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on May 29, 2025. Also known as, Mina, Nina, Aunt Min and of course, YiaYia. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard J. Ward. The daughter of Irene and George P. Lavdas of Andros, Greece, both deceased. Loving big sister to the late Peter G. Lavdas. Survived by her loving daughters, Lorene Ward (Jim Thompson) and Georgeann Tropiano (Robert). Grandmother to Anthony Tropiano, Amy Guerrieri (Stephen), and Alexa Russ (Ray). Great grandmother of Brooks, Addison, Lainey and Riley. Motherly-Aunt to Vicky Tusken and Pam Wilson. Godmother to Argie Demas. Minerva was a loving aunt, great aunt, adopted aunt, cousin, good neighbor and friend to so many people. Minerva was very proud of her Greek heritage and was dedicated to the preservation of Greek history, its culture and traditions through her involvement in the creation and development of the Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral Library. She was very active in the church. She was a leader in the Girl Scouts for many years and volunteered at many other organizations in her lifetime. A special thank you to all the wonderful caregivers at the Winfield of Richmond Heights and Suncrest Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Minerva's memory may be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral Library or International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC). Funeral Service 10:30 AM Thursday June 5th at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3352 Mayfield Rd. Cleveland Hts. OH 44118 (Please Meet at Church). Interment Knollwood Cemetery.
