Siefollah Afsarifard "Sy"

SIEFOLLAH AFSARIFARD "Sy" from Willoughby Hills, Ohio passed away in his sleep on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the age of 97. He was born in Iran and lived there until 1979, when he immigrated to the United States after the Islamic Revolution, to be with his family who were already there. He was a retired Colonel from the Iranian Armed Forces and later the CEO of KTT Transportation Company. During his military services, he functioned as an inspector, reviewing the readiness of the Royal Iranian Forces. He also led the Iranian delegation to the United Nations for the peacekeeping mission in Vietnam in 1974. In the United States, he was the co-founder of A&O Foods. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mansoureh Raouf, and their 4 sons, Bijan (Roshanak Izadbakhsh), Farshid (Kathy Ryder), Farshad (Marjan Izadbakhsh), and Kamran (Debbie Hellwig). Sy and Mansoureh have 10 grandchildren, Dounya (Kenny), Navid, Kayvon (Erica), Roya, Omeed, Hasti, Leah, Shiva, Mena and Arash; and 2 great-grandchildren, Cyrus and Kian Gharemani. Sy loved his family and enjoyed having gatherings. He was notorious for his impeccable memory, especially for Persian poetry, a passion he enjoyed to the last days of his life. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Sy's memory to a homeless shelter or a local food bank.
