It is with broken hearts, heavy spirits, and probably a few inappropriate jokes that we announce the passing of a truly one-of-a-kind guy, who left us far too soon at the age of 46.
Dear father of Crisgen, son of the late Charles (Chuck) McGuire and Jeanette Ambroza Snider; brother of Amber Pritchard (Bobby) and Kari Miller (JJ); uncle of Ryen, Gabriella, Cal and Matt Osisek, Kendall Pritchard and Olivia Miller; cat father of 15 year old Chip.
He was a loyal friend, a passionate sports fan and above all else, he loved his family. They were his greatest accomplishment, his biggest source of pride, and most times, his favorite audience for his sarcasm.
He loved spending time with the people closest to him, making them laugh, giving them a hard time, and creating the kind of memories that will be talked about for years to come.
Then there were his football teams. He was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan which requires a special kind of loyalty, patience, and possibly professional counseling. Through the wins, the losses, and the games that made absolutely no sense, he remained faithful. He was also a proud Buckeyes fan, which at least gave him something to celebrate most years.
He loved bowling, which he got honest from both the McGuire and Ambroza sides of his family, and he approached it with the perfect combination of skill, competition, and humor. Harry Potter and music were other loves of his, and he always had an HP quote or a favorite artist ready to go.
He also had a serious appreciation for technology. If there was a new phone, gaming system, electronic gadget, or piece of technology on the market, there was a very good chance he knew about it—and an even better chance he had already decided he needed it.
Gaming was another favorite pastime…..possibly THE favorite. He could disappear into a game for hours, completely focused and highly competitive.
But what people will remember most wasn’t his love of sports, gadgets, games, bowling, or music. It was his personality. He was hilarious. Quick-witted. Sarcastic. He had a comeback for just about everything and a talent for finding humor in situations where most people couldn’t. He could make people laugh when they didn’t feel like laughing, and sometimes when they probably shouldn’t have been laughing at all. He had a gift for turning an ordinary moment into a funny story, and for leaving people with a smile. His jokes, his sarcasm, his stories, and those perfectly timed comments will be deeply missed.
At 46, he had so much more life left to live, more games to watch, more bowling to do, more gadgets to buy, more games to play, and—most importantly—more time to spend with the people he loved.
It isn’t fair that he was taken from us so soon. But if there is a heaven, we’re pretty sure he’s already found the best seat in the house, figured out the Wi-Fi password, complained about said wi-fi, and is currently arranging his perfect setup.
He leaves behind a family who loved him beyond measure, friends who were lucky enough to experience his humor, and countless people who will forever have a story that begins with, “You remember when he…” And there will be plenty of those stories. His life may have been far too short, but it was filled with love, laughter, family, friendship, music, sports, games, and enough sarcasm to last several lifetimes. He will be missed terribly. He will be loved forever. And somewhere, somehow, we know he’s still getting in the last word.
Rest easy Trav, Colonel, Tachee, TQ, Dad, Foom…..we promise to keep your memory alive.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever making us laugh.
