Arthur Lewis Greene

Arthur Greene was born and raised in New York. He received a Bachelor of Science degree and Masters in Hematology while in New York. He went on to receive his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine while studying in Perugia and Torino, Italy. He returned to the United States and took the foreign board exam and began practicing veterinary medicine in New York before relocating to Miami, Florida. He was the owner of Ponce Animal Clinic, Key Biscayne Animal Clinic and finally Homestead Animal Hospital. Since owning Homestead Animal Hospital in 2002 he has expanded the facility to include air-conditioned boarding, a play area for the cats and outdoor doggie play area. He was excited to introduce the first hyperbaric chamber for animals in the South Florida area. He loved his four-legged clients and their owners and became a part of their families due to his compassion, patience and humor as tended to their pets. Arthur would raise funds for animal rescue groups, and he provided a free vaccination clinic for pet owners in the Homestead, Florida area.

Arthur was not just a well-loved veterinarian; he was a loving father to Sean and Ryan and a devoted husband to Deborah. He treasured his close relationship with his brother; Marc and he was so appreciative of Marc’s support through these last few months. He remained very close to his cousin Larry Lubin whom he always said was like a brother to him. We know he leaves behind many friends, clients and family who appreciated his generosity of spirit and humor. May his memory be a blessing.

A funeral service will be held at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapels at Mount Nebo (Kendall), located at 5900 SW 77th Ave, Miami, FL, 33143, United States. The service is scheduled for July 8, 2025, starting at 11:30 am.
