April 1, 1943 – November 6, 2025
It’s hard to sum up a life—especially one as full and layered as our father’s. Arthur Howard Wilinsky was born in Brooklyn on April 1, 1943, a date that hints at the humor and warmth he carried throughout his life. But dates and places only tell part of the story.
He met our mother, Janet Rose Cutler, in June of 1963, and they married a year later. Their partnership was built on love, laughter, and a shared appreciation for the finer things—like a perfectly made bagel.
Arthur was a loving husband, a generous father, and a loyal friend. He worked harder than anyone we knew, driven by a deep desire to build something lasting. His passion for baking led him to open several bagel shops, where he shared not just food, but a piece of his heart. To him, a real bagel wasn’t just a recipe—it was a tradition and a craft.
Each of us knew him differently. Some saw the quiet strength, others the sharp wit, and all of us felt the depth of his love in our own way. He was complex, like the best stories are, and we are proud to be part of his.
Arthur leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and authenticity.
He is survived by his beloved wife Janet; his children Ira, Evan ( Missy), and Adam (Emily); seven grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Ethan, Ella, Haley, Kylee, Chase, Justin, and Jordan; his Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law Les and Barbara Cutler, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Etta Wilinsky and Sam & Pearl Cutler, his Sister Dolores Pilof -LoVerde and Brothers-in-law Bob Pilof & Joe Loverde and his Brother in law & Sister-in-law Michael & Marsha Kropf.
Shiva will be catered by Roasters and Toasters at the home of Barbara & Les Cutler, 11723 SW 95 Terrace, Miami FL 33186 after the service and on Wednesday and Thursday after 2 pm.
Donations in memory of Arthur Wilinsky can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the American Heart Association.
