Barbara was the loving spouse to Gary P. Cohen, for 55 years, devoted mother to her children Stacey Packman (Kevin) and Dr. Scott Cohen, and caring grandmother. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Lilyan Cuttler (Ned), nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, and lifelong friends who adored her. Barbara was raised in Miami, graduating from Coral Gables High School and the University of Miami. She was passionate about education, having worked as a teacher. Barbara was a founding member of Temple Beth Am, chairing and serving on many committees. She loved to travel, especially to her home in North Carolina. Barbara dedicated herself to her entire family and community until succumbing to a prolonged illness. Donations may be made to Temple Beth Am.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Nebo/Miami Memorial Gardens, located at 5505 NW 3rd St, Miami, FL 33126, on August 5, 2025, from 1:00 pm.
