

Miami Dade County Businessman 50 years.
Born and raised in Utica, N.Y. He came to Miami in 1957 to attend U of M ‘62. The “sand in his shoes” returned him to Miami Beach and the CharBurger Restaurant on Lincoln Road in 1963. His first marriage produced identical twin daughters Leila (Steve) Kanzer, Haley and Brian and Jodi (Mehdi) Abrache, Simon and Hannah.
From the CharBurger he worked for his mentor at Jumbo’s Restaurant and then took over the Black Angus on Coral Way. Left to NYC and the Steak and Brew Restaurant on First Avenue and 57th Street. He owned and operated two restaurants and a meat distribution company when he sold out to the parent company Longchamps.
After a pleasure trip to Europe he returned to Miami to own and operate the Quintessence Restaurant in South Dade for over twenty years. He married Linda Snyderman Margolis-Winterick and the twenty year marriage produced daughter Rachel and son Aaron (Chana) Margolis, Yaakov Eliezer and Sara.
After moving the Quintessence to an ill fated location in Perrine the restaurant closed.
Buddy then entered the awning business as a contractor and was the owner and operator of Sunbloc Carports and Awnings, Inc. His many loyal customers sustained him through good times and bad for over 29 years.
An avid Shul goer he boasted of his continuous Shabbos observance for over 70 years. He belonged to Beth David, Tempe Israel, Bet Shira, Chabad of the Grove, Chabad of Kendall, and Bais Menachem. He often spoke of the rewards of knowledge and insight he gleaned from his attending.
He is also survived by a sister Dr. Ellen Margolis of San Diego, California.
Services and interment held Sunday, March 20th at Mt. Nebo Kendall 5900 SW 77th Avenue, Miami, Florida.
