David Stephen Baker

Born January 31, 1947

David Stephen Baker, 64, Pembroke Pines, Florida, died at 4:30 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2011, from a traumatic brain injury suffered during a fall at home.

David was born January 31, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Florida in 1970. He married Phyllis Franco on June 24, 1973 in Hollywood, Fl. David served the Miami Dade Public School system for 32 years as an Educator and Administrator before his retirement in 2005.

He recently became a self employed travel agent. David lived life to the fullest during his retirement, sailing on numerous cruises and traveling with his best friend and wife, Phyllis. David was also an avid sports fan, a movie buff and a jack of all trades. He loved spending time with his daughters and exploring new travel destinations with friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Phyllis, daughters Michelle and Mindy, and he was expecting his first granddaughter in October, 2011.

Services were held at Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel on June 12, 2011, In lieu of flowers, please send donations in David’s name to: The American Diabetes Association Research Foundation.
