Miami, FL, passed away
peacefully June 6, 2012. He was
the beloved husband of Dianne
with whom he shared 52 years of
marriage. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
he was the son of Benjamin and
Claire Singer. David relocated his
family to Miami in 1969 to join
Ryder System, retiring after 27
years as Director of Credit &
Collection. An avid tennis player
and a gentle soul, David devoted
his time to his family and many
charitable organizations. He
served as a founding board
member of DFYIT (Drug Free
Youth In Town) and volunteered
at Temple Judea in Coral Gables
among other organizations. A
family man at heart, his
wife, children and grandchildren
were the center of his life. David
was cherished by not only his
immediate family but also by
nieces, nephews, family and
friends. He was the quintessential
patriarch who was always true to
his word and could be counted on
for wise counsel with issues big
and small. His life was a blessing
and he will be sorely missed by
every life he touched.
In addition to his wife Dianne,
David is survived by his children
Susan (Scott) Silver, Dr. Steven
(Laurie) Singer; grandchildren
Jeremy (Amanda) Silver, Jillian
Silver, Alison and Andrew Singer
and beloved nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for the
loving and compassionate care
that David received these past
three years at the Chalet at Old
Cutler.
