Yatay! May the Great Spirit that Don Little Bear loved give peace to the hearts of all who knew and loved him. I was blessed to have known this upright and tall-walking man; he enriched the lives of everyone he touched. His path was not an easy one but his courage and determination overcame every obstacle. He shared his expertise in physical exercise with everyone who wanted his instruction. He walked with dignity and honor and remained true to the spirit of his forefathers. It was truly a joy to have known him; he will be greatly missed.

Dear "Stevie,"
I am one of Ray Marksberry's daughters.  My sister, Barbara, just left me a message last night that she had learned of your father's passing.  Your dad and our father were close friends - they had come to know each other through the UCT, which Addie Stuebe mentioned in her post.  Your dad was with our Dad when he passed, and it made him so sad.  He was very proud of his Native American heritage and performed a ritual with our dad to send him across the river.  He also gave him an Eagle's Feather as his last gift.  I did not speak with your dad too often lately because my college studies for nursing are keeping me very occupied.  Every time your dad and I would speak, he would always bring you into our conversation.  I can only reiterate what the pastor posted - your father was super proud of you, and missed your mom tremendously!!!  I am sorry I did not get to say goodbye to him, but I am happy he and my dad are playing cards together again!  Take care of yourself.

Dear Steve and Family, Shalom!  My wife, Suzi, and I are speaking with Lisa Schlesinger at our home for the first time in months and months, and we just asked about your Dad, and Lisa said she'd not heard from Don for months and I looked online, and here we are!  We want you all to know how much Don "Little Bear" Curtiss spoke about and loved you all..Oh!, words are inadequate!  He was so proud of you, Steve, and Noah and all of you.  He spoke about you all all the time...he'd come late to Shabbat Services and would always have a rotisserie chicken or a nice dessert to share for the Oneg Shabbat, dressed "to the nines" in his wonderful Western belt(s) and shirt(s)!!  Afterwards he go to the gym, or, to work.  He was a proud man with a strong work ethic who missed your Mom sooo verrrry much, loved the opera, his careers and most of all, you all and your Mom.
