I was recently talking to my wife regarding an eye exam and told her about this wonderful Doctor my mother and me used to go to in the late 1950's-60's, and that for some reason I still remember him and how kind he was.  I was only 8 years old then but at 72 now I still think about those days and how much my mother admired him for his kindness and professionalism.  To the family I would like to express my sincere condolences and hope you find some comfort in knowing so many people admired Dr. Pushkin.

Dr. Pushkin was my family's optometrist for over 30 years. He was a consummate optometrist and a warm, kind, intelligent man with a variety of interests. I especially enjoyed talking to him during my appointments of he and Claire's most recent birding adventure. He was a wonderful person and will be missed.

We have special memories of Manny, will miss him a lot; he always smiled and friendly with everyome. May he rest in peace. Our thoughts go out to Claire, Joan and her family.

Manny was my first cousin once removed. My aunt Mimi just now called from Israel to give me the sad news of Manny's passing.

Living near Washington DC, I saw Manny and Claire unfortunately only rarely in my adult life. I do remember visiting them in Florida decades ago, I think in the early '60s when I was in my late teens, when Manny took me to his office and taught me a great deal about vision and lenses (information which serves me well to this day). But mainly I remember how warm and friendly he was, really the nicest person you could ever meet.

After a long hiatus I saw him briefly for what would be the last time at a 2006 family reunion in Baltimore. He was as warm and friendly as everI. It was a pleasure seeing him, but much too short a visit.

I wish we had lived closer to Manny and Claire. As it turns out, I have an interest in photography as well. It would have been nice to share that with him.

        Was my the first eye doctor my  mother took us too. He was always a very decent person and tried his best to help everyone. When I became an eye doctor I went to Dr Pushkin for advise.
There will never be a another one like him..rest in peace Manny.

My Uncle Manny was so special. Growing up, visiting often and vacationing with the Pushkins was a warm, wonderful experience.  He showed kindness and caring wherever he went and I always felt wanted and loved.

While  attending  Shenandoah Jr. High,  in the  mid-50's  , Dr.
Pushkin was  my optometrist.   His  office  was  on Coral Way &  I still  have  fond memories  of  his  very kind demeanor.
