Smith, Emanuel J., 94 of Miami Florida passed away December 9, 2014. Born in Dallas, Texas, he was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps and served valiantly at Iwo Jima. A restaurateur in Miami Beach in the 50’s and 60’s at the La Rue, Beef & Bird, and Embers, he also was a grocer and property manager.
He was a proud member of Beth David and a devoted and caring citizen, friend, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances, his children, Francine (Chip), Allen (Jody) Ellen, Amy (Raul) and Nancy and grandfather to Molly and Rubyann.
Services to be held on Thursday, December 11 at 11:30am at Beth David Chapel with burial to follow at Mount Nebo Miami Memorial Gardens.
