

On August 7th, 2013, at the age of 93, Fay Meyer Zinn, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at her home. Fay was born in New York City on July 3rd, 1920. Fay was raised in New York and New Jersey and in 1938 graduated from Passaic High School in New Jersey. She went on to receive a degree from New York University in 1941. And, on June 15, 1941 in New York City she married a young musician and University of Miami law student named Harold Zinn. Fay moved to Miami Beach with her husband, where they raised a family.
Fay and Harold were married for 49 years when he passed away in 1991, just four months shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. Fay dedicated her life to her family and she was the model of a kind, generous, smart and caring mother. She serves as a lasting inspiration to every member of her family. Fay was also devoted to philanthropic work and her community; she was active in the League of Women Voters, Temple Beth Shalom, Mount Sinai Hospital, Greater Miami Jewish Federation and the University of Miami School of Music.
Fay is survived by her loving family; daughter Barbara Feldman (Jack), son Richard Zinn (Susan), Grandchildren Warren Zinn (Nicole), Caryn Musaffi ( Michael) and Sara Feldman and great granddaughter Kayley Zinn. She will be missed.
The family would like to express special gratitude to the loving caregivers who helped make Fay's final years and days comfortable, Hyacinth Jones, Joan England, and Darrell Davis.
Funeral services will be at Temple Beth Sholom Miami Beach at 1:00 p.m. Sunday Aug. 11. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Temple Beth Sholom, Attn.: Mitzvah Fund 4144 Chase Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33140.
