Born: September 30, 1927 New York, NY
Passed: July 15, 2013 Miami, FL
He was a dentist by profession and hobby. He was also well known for being a published poet, artist, joke teller and lover of classical music. Fred had a playful and irreverent way of looking at life, and we’ll try to share that here.
We could litter the page with his achievements, but that wouldn’t paint an accurate picture of him. He served in the army and graduated from NYU Dental School. He was active in the Boas and Hannah Kahn Poetry Groups, at Temple Judea, Hillel, Havurah of S. FL. and with the ADL. He was Chairman of Aesthetics at the Dade County Dental Research Clinic where he donated his time.
As a supportive and loving husband and father, he was a family man before it was fashionable. He did everything before it was fashionable—and in some cases we are still waiting.
He is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife, Vivian (Billie)--the best partner and straight man ever. He was very proud of his 3 children, all doctors: Maury, Jesse and Shari and their spouses: Leslie, Lonnie and Edwin Moure. He was delighted by his 5 grandchildren and his sister, Judith Sussman.
In addition to family, Fred loved Judaism, traveling, history, and a nightly gin martini. He took his family on many international trips, creating everlasting memories. He loved watching sports, mostly the Dolphins, but any sport in its finals and any event his grandchildren participated in.
His company and humor will be sorely missed. Finally, we’ll share Fred’s own 11th commandment: “never take yourself too seriously”. The family sends a special thank you to Dr. Ed Neff and staff, and Jose Rodriguez.
Services to be held Wednesday, at noon, at Mt Nebo, Kendall 5900 SW 77 Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Temple Judea or Temple Israel.
