Gay Angel Taylor, age 75, journeyed peacefully from this life and went to heaven on May 21st, 2025, surrounded by the warmth, devotion, and boundless love of her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Gay was the embodiment of grace. Her heart was open to all, her compassion limitless, and her presence a constant source of light for everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Gay was born on October 11, 1949, in Miami, FL, to parents David “Babe” and Minnie Angel, who nurtured a deep sense of kindness that would remain within her throughout her life. As a child, she was known for her gentle spirit, quiet curiosity, and heart open to the world around her.
Gay lived a life of meaning, not through grand gestures, but through daily acts of kindness, thoughtfulness, and humility. Her sense of wonder never faded; she admired the natural world with childlike awe and found beauty in the overlooked, the ordinary, and the imperfect. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her warmth and selfless love.
Gay is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Charles Taylor, with whom she shared a life filled with unwavering love, laughter, and quiet strength. Together, they built more than a home — they created a space where comfort was constant, laughter came easily, and everyone who entered felt welcome. Gay is also survived by her children, Ashley Austin and Aiden Collazo, Michael and Jennifer Austin; her five adoring grandchildren, Sage, Tyler, Kaya, Kate, and Jake; each of whom she loved unconditionally and who brought her boundless joy.
Along with her husband, children, and grandchildren, she is survived by loving siblings Marcia Steele and Jeffrey Angel, sisters-in-law Joann Angel and Suzanne Taylor, brothers-in-law Richard Geronemus and James Taylor, and cherished mother-in-law Doris Taylor- all close companions throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Faye Geronemus, whose presence she continued to feel through the butterflies in her garden, and her brothers-in-law, Jeff Steele and Edwin Taylor Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), in honor of Gay’s courageous journey and the unshakable spirit with which she faced every challenge.
