Those of our group gave Harold the name POGO.  Harold was a joy to our group and no one could ever give anything but praise to him.  Rest in Peace, Friend, sorry to learn about your passing.

Harold and I met in the 70's through my husband Carl who was a high school friend.  Over the years we kept in touch and we visited with him in Florida almost every year when we made an annual family cross country trip to see our family.  In the early eighties, soon after the birth of our second child, Harold came to stay with my family for an extended  period of time.  It was during this time when I really got to know him and I have some really great memories of those days.  Ultimately, Harold made the decision to return to Florida and we kept in touch through phone calls and less frequent visits as time passed.  We had unsuccessfully been trying to reach him recently since it had been a while since we had spoken. His passing has saddened my family and we are consoling ourselves by remembering Harold's smart sense of humor and genuine warm smile.  He was a special person and a generous soul. The news of his sudden passing was a shock and as I grieve the loss of a guy I could talk with anytime as if no time elapsed between our connections I hope he is at peace.  

Harold and I met in high school and remained friends throughout our adult lives. Although we lived on opposite sides of the country, we kept in touch and visited each other. He came to stay with me and my family after the birth of my second child and was known as “nanny” Harold. We have many good memories from the old days of growing up in Crown Heights in Brooklyn. Although we haven’t been in touch for the last few years, we will always remember his sharp wit and warm smile. Harold, Rest In Peace!

Harold was a unique man, a character that I grew to like and a smile that brightened my day.
