Cooper Cowen had three older children, then baby Iris, eleven years later. After graduating with a degree in Psychology
and Education from the University of Illinois, she met Howard Kaplan on the beach where their families vacationed in Michigan City, Indiana.
Iris and Howard married in 1949 and made their life in Miami, Florida. Howard passed away in 2014.
Iris is survived by Martha (Michael) Backer, Joy (Paul) Davies, Audrey (Brad) Vance, and Steven (Kris, Kim) Kaplan. Ten grandchildren and ten great grandkids.

A funeral service for Iris will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10:30 PM at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapels at Mount Nebo (Kendall), 5900 SW 77th Ave, Miami, FL 33143.
