FLEEMAN, Jerome, 94, passed away September 30, 2013. He was born on December 8, 1918 in Syracuse, NY. Jerome came to Miami Beach in 1926 with his parents and his brother, David. He graduated from Ida M. Fisher High School in 1934 at the age of fifteen. He returned to his family’s original hometown to attend Syracuse University and then went on to complete dental school at Northwestern University in 1942. After serving in the Army during WWII, he returned to Miami Beach and established a dental practice there. During that time, he met his beloved wife, Marjorie, whom he married in 1948. In the 1960s, Dr. Fleeman changed his practice from general dentistry to orthodonture, and at one time or another, operated offices in Miami Beach, downtown Miami, Hialeah, North Miami Beach, and during the final fifteen years of his practice, Little Havana. Beginning in 1983, he fully enjoyed his retirement, enrolling in classes at FIU and Miami-Dade, playing the piano daily, reading, surfing the Internet, and playing tennis until he was 90. He was an intelligent, kind and gentle man who was loved by virtually everybody who ever met him. He is survived by his daughter, Julia Fleeman, son and daughter-in-law, John and Diana Fleeman, and grandchildren Rebecca and Jessica Fleeman and Grace Gould.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, at Riverside Gordon Kendall, 5900 SW 77 Ave, Miami, FL. Burial at Mt. Nebo, Miami.
