01/26/29-01/13/18; 88 years old. Born in Havana, Cuba and immigrated to Miami Beach in 1961. Pepe died peacefully at home surrounded by love. Predeceased by his parents, Alfredo & Diamanté Susi, Brother, Roberto Susi, & grandson, Austin Gilbert. A man of unyielding faith and optimism and a lifelong member & supporter of Temple Menorah, Temple Moses & The Cuban Hebrew Congregation. Pepe was self-employed his whole life in the “shmate” business, first in retail then in manufacturing, working side by side with his beloved wife of 60 years, Loretta. Theirs was a love affair that endured life’s many highs and lows, never faltering, always connected, holding hands & smiling to the end. Pepe felt blessed that his children made Miami their home, to have watched his grandchildren grow up here and see his first great-grandchild born. Pepe loved his weekly poker & dominos games as well as all Miami sports teams, but will forever be a true Yankee’s fan. In addition to many friends, extended family & machetunem, Pepe is survived by his loving wife, Loretta; his children, Sandy (Jay) Halpern, Salomon (Lisa) Susi, & Belinda (Mark) Gilbert; his 8 grandchildren, Frankie B, Mitchell & Jacqueline Halpern, Jared (Nicole) & Margaux Susi, and Stuart, Brett & Grace Gilbert; great-grandson, Mason Susi; sister, Susana (Ed) Averbach, and many wonderful nieces, nephews and their beautiful children.
