Leonard Robert Simons, Born May 28, 1920 in Providence, RI, died September 26, 2011 in Miami, Florida. After serving in the Coast Guard, Lenny ”The Silver Fox” moved his family to the Miami area during the mid 1940’s in a converted school bus that became a rolling grocery store to pay for the trip to Miami. He worked for Dade County and became involved with the Circus, Carnivals and Medicine Shows. Later he moved into Theater and Television. He was the head prop man for the Jackie Gleason Show when it filmed in Miami. Lenny was a member of the Miami Showmen Club, The Masons and IATSE Union. Survived by beloved wife of over 60 years, Marie and Daughter Susanne Hammer and all who knew and loved him.
