Born and raised in New York, she attended Cortland State Teachers College, (now SUNY Cortland), where she received a B.A. in Elementary Education.
In 1967, she married Dr. Harvey Cohen, a dentist, and in 1970 the couple moved to Miami. There they raised their daughter Rachel, while Dr. Cohen maintained a longstanding dental practice in the Kendall area treating generations of patients.
They remained happily married for 42 years until Harvey’s passing in 2009.
In 2011 Leslie welcomed the birth of granddaughter Harper, who was her greatest pride and joy in her later years.
Leslie is survived by her daughter, Rachel, her granddaughter Harper; her brother Dr. Michael Saul (Denise); as well as extended family and friends.
