
Born in Aberdeen, Maryland, Marc lived a life defined by kindness, integrity, humor, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. He was the beloved husband of Deborah Balliette Jacobson, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage filled with love, friendship, and devotion.
Marc graduated from Miami Senior High School and was a proud graduate of the University of Miami, where he attended on a music scholarship as a talented trumpet player. His love of music remained a lifelong passion. He further developed his musical talents through programs associated with the University of Michigan and Interlochen. Marc also proudly served his country as a member of the Florida National Guard.
Throughout his distinguished professional career, Marc earned a degree in Finance and Insurance and became a respected insurance executive, entrepreneur, and bank director. He founded and led American Central Insurance Agency, Inc. and Jacobson Investments, earning the trust and admiration of clients, colleagues, and friends through his honesty, wisdom, and dedication.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Marc embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. He was an avid tennis player and golfer and found great pleasure in music throughout his life. Music was woven throughout Marc’s life, from his scholarship years at the University of Miami to his performances with the Community Concert Band, where his trumpet brought joy to audiences and fellow musicians alike. His passion for music enriched not only his own life but also the lives of those around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Deborah Balliette Jacobson; his sons, Paul Jacobson and his wife, Hillary, and Aaron Jacobson and his wife, Rachel; and his grandchildren, Marshall Cooper, Laura, and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Betty Jacobson.
Those who knew Marc will remember his quick wit, warm sense of humor, generous spirit, and genuine concern for others. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, valued, and supported. Whether offering guidance, sharing a laugh, or lending a helping hand, Marc touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of compassion, friendship, and service.
Funeral services will be held at Riverside Memorial Chapel, with interment at Mount Nebo Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in Marc’s memory.
Marc will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing.
