

Dr. Norman Browner passed away on November 4th at the age of 86. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, NY, where he formed valued lifelong friendships, Norm proudly attended Alfred University and the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. He served his country as a dentist in the Army from 1964-1966. In 1967, he moved with his young family to Miami Beach, where he practiced dentistry with great skill and integrity for fifty years.
Norm served in a variety of roles, including as President, of the North Dade – Miami Beach Dental Society. He was an enthusiastic volunteer for the Democratic Party and worked tirelessly on both of Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns.
An avid tennis player, Norm loved spending the morning on the tennis court, followed by lunch out with good friends. He treasured his regular skiing and hiking trips to Colorado and beach vacations surrounded by family in Ocracoke, N.C.
After marrying Ellie (Savedge-Rozos) in 1989, they created a lasting bond and a loving blended family. Norm was deeply loved by close and extended family on all sides, as well as a multitude of friends, patients, and coworkers. He will be remembered for the ease with which he conversed and connected with everyone he came into contact with.
Norm is survived by his beloved wife, Ellie; his brother Larry (Karen) Browner; his children Karen (Greg) Ritter, Diana Lynn (Kenny) Rozos, and Ken (Rachel) Browner; his grandchildren Matt (Krystal) Ritter, Katrina Leitner, Stephanie (Jordan) Kahn, Jake (Melanie) Browner, Sophie Browner, Lauryn (Andrew) Leitner, Ian Ritter, and Liat Browner; and his great-grandchildren Gunner Leitner, Harrison Leitner, and Hera Ritter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 24th at 11:00 AM at Riverside-Stanetsky Memorial Chapels in Delray Beach, FL, followed by burial at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, and shiva at the home of Karen and Greg Ritter.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Norm’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Trust for Public Land.
