Betsy,  Dev, and Josh your mom was one of a kind. I admired her strength and courage both in and out of the courtroom.  Growing up we visited Miami a number of times and I always remember your mom sitting at the dining room table and asking me how I was doing,  what was going on in my life.  Sally cared about me and I could feel it.  I'm so glad that Aunt Sally was part of my life.  She showed me how a woman could be caring and incredibly strong.

Dear Weintraub Family it with deepest sorry I send my regrets to you. Sally tried a difficult murder case MooYoung / Maharaj and put behind bars the killer my father and brother’s murderer. Sally became such a close friend and advocate for my family while being professional. Even in retirement on appeal offered her profound knowledge! Sally was certainly one of a kind.  A very tough and determined lawyer.  During trials she didn't just object, she boomed, "Objection!" and glared like you had just committed an act of moral turpitude.  No prosecutor was more tenacious.  Ed & I tried a case two or three times to hung juries, but Sally would never give up.  I was fortunate to be opposing counsel in several homicide trials prosecuted by Sally, then later presided over her trials as a judge.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Josh and his family.  Sally was truly sui generis.

I am deeply saddened by Sally’s passing. I had the privilege of knowing her and benefitting from her amazing knowledge for many years. She always had that pleasant smile, and never hesitated to assist me and give me guidance the many times I went to her for help. She leaves behind a deep void and will forever be missed.  My most heartfelt sympathy to her family. 

Betsy, Devy and Josh - I am sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother. I am grateful to have known her and call her Aunt Sally.  I remember she came to Bowie MD for my Bar Mitzvah and she bought me a belt for my light blue leisure suit. I remember coming to her house for Thanksgiving dinners and getting re-acquainted with the Miami Weintraub’s.   One year in the 2000’s she came to Gainesville for a speech at the UF Law School and met me and Ellen and the kids for dinner.  She was always so gracious and kind to my family.   We will miss her smile and her words of wisdom and encouragement.

So sad to read about the death of the great Sally Weintraub. Sally was such an incredible role model  for me and countless other young female attorneys.  I had the privilege of trying a high profile eight count first degree murder case with Sally and it was unquestionably one of the high points of my career.   I learned so much from her and grew so much as an attorney thanks to her. She was a mentor and friend and made me see that you can be be both great trial attorney and a great mother, and she made it seem so effortless.  She  tried major case after major case and never seemed to be stressed out.  My condolences to the entire family. Her memory is surely a blessing to so many, me included. 

Sally was an incredible inspiration to so many in the legal community.  It was apparent that she was cherished by Josh and her entire family. Her legacy will live on through generations of lawyers and her family.  May her memory be a blessing. 

I am so saddened to hear of Sally’s passing. She was such a wonderful and kind person and a fantastic prosecutor. Miami is a better place because of Sally. I always looked up to her.  Such an inspiration. May her memory be a blessing. My deepest condolences to Josh and the entire family.

Sally was a superstar- both as a mother to her three outstanding  children and as a prosecutor.  She was respected by all and a true role model.

Sally was one of a kind.  Proud, poised, and a true professional.  While we may have tried cases together, it was more fun to watch as she would kvell over her children and their accomplishments.  Sally never sought out the fame of being a great lawyer, and her family was always in her heart.  She was a gender role model without ever trying, merely by showing her skills in the courtroom and then going on to her next major trial.  A pleasure to work with and a true loss to all - Jose and Betsy, of course.  Her life has already been a blessing to future generations.

Sally was so admired by everyone who knew her and especially those who had the honor to work with her.   I was one of the lucky ones who worked with her on many of her cases.  I always enjoyed having Sally come to my office and we would talk through the issues and come to the best conclusions on how to proceed.  She was so sharp even when she finally decided to retire to enjoy her life and family.  She was a blessing to us all.

Dear Josh,  & Betsy.    I was proud to call your mother my friend and to work beside her & for her.  Sally was amazing to watch.  She would walked to trial with one brown folder under her arm, organized and ready for the work of a great Major Crimes prosecutor!  Sally was among the best to have served the office.  What a great person.  I will continue to think of her often.

Sally was always be one of my heroes.  Her boundless intelligence and wit was as astonishing as her commitment to the community, our office, and, of course her family.  She was always kind to everyone; always looking to lend a helping hand.  So, rather than say the traditional, "May her memory be blessing," I say instead, "I KNOW her memory will be a blessing."  

I am so very sorry for your loss. Sally meant so much to so many of us whom she trained and passed on her knowledge and ethics.  I am grateful to have known her.
