

KOHLENBERG, SAMUEL G., 95, of Coral Gables, Florida, passed away at home on April 30, 2017. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Predeceased by his parents, Maximilian and Byrdie Kohlenberg, and his brother, Arthur Kohlenberg. Born May 26, 1921, in New York City, Sam grew up in Bronx, NY, graduated from Ethical Culture Fieldston School, then attended Union College, graduating from NYU and NYU School of Dentistry. A veteran of WWII and the Korean War, Sam moved to Miami in 1953, where he raised his family and practiced dentistry for over 50 years. Sam was a true renaissance man with multiple varied interests; he loved to boat, fish and sail, flew airplanes, played the piano and the clarinet, and traveled the world with his beloved wife, Sandra Dubbin Kohlenberg, bringing back wonderful stories and incredible photographs. Survived by his wife, Sandra, daughters Joan (Ken) Zackowski, Nancy (Jeffrey) Watkin, Carol Kohlenberg, granddaughter, Karen Osborn; step-children, Albert (Monica) Viener, Rise (Gene) Siegrist, and Fred (Aurine) Viener, and their children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 12:30, Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th St., Miami, FL 33172. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sam's name to Ethical Culture Fieldston School, 33 Central Park West, New York, NY 10023, Attn. Advancement Office.
