Dear Drew and Elizabeth;
How tragic to lose Zach!
To say that one "understands how you feel" is gracious enough ....but hardly enough to begin to describe the sadness ... or attempt to share the sadness, that you must feel! Although we did not see you that often, I have always felt a warm affection for the four of you, and dammit, I am just broken-hearted.
These very-few-and-far-between family gatherings have just been too few.
To a parent, there is no bigger fear than the concern over the life and safety of one's children. Drew, to me, as a father of three; as your adjunct family; as a man torn by the sadness of divorce and its effect on our own children, I am well, yes, broken hearted. Drew, I have not stopped thinking about you and Zack. I have been and will continue to pray for his soul and for you, Liz and Sarah to be able to cope with your tragic loss. In the worst of times, we can be comforted by the fact that God never lets us go too far without being held by his loving arms. God bless you. George Fernandez
