Carl Lester Nix, age 82 of Middleburg, Florida passed away on January 23, 2025. He was born in Houston, Texas to the late Thelma Lois (Stegall) and Rush Carl Nix. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Russelyn "Vicki" Nix of 52 years, surrogate family Zachary & Ginger Russell, their children Alex & Maddox Russell and 2 fur babies, Zorro and Pumpkin, Nephew Cody Brunk and family, along with a host of loving family and friends.
After high school, Carl joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served 20 years. He was an Aviation Machinist Mate for both Reciprocating and Jet engines, and retired as a P3 Flight Engineer from Patrol Squadron 49 at NAS Jacksonville. After his dedicated service, he then opened an automotive engine and air conditioning repair shop in Orange Park, FL. Carl enjoyed being with family and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery located at 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218 (Lane 2), with full U.S. Navy Honors.
