Carl Wesley Schimmel III, 79, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 30, 1945, in Washington, D.C., he was the devoted son of the late Carl Wesley Schimmel II and Annie Schimmel.
Carl proudly served his country in the United States Navy and honorably retired after a distinguished career. He was a beloved husband to his wife, Joe Ann Schimmel, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship. He was a loving father to his children Amy Mowbray and Charlie Schimmel. Not to mention a super Grand dad to his three grandsons, and his bonus grand babies. He was loved by everyone he met. He is going to be missed by many.
Carl’s legacy of service, strength, and devotion to family will be cherished always.
A committal service with Military Honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 3, 2025, at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, FL 32508.
