He was preceded in death by parents Earl Sr. and Laura Marion; brothers Earl Jr., James, Robert, and Earnest; and sister Kathleen.
Dan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Charlotte; sons Daniel II (Jill) and Wesley; sisters Betty Jo, Eva Mae and Linda. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
Born in Charleston, West Virginia, he was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. And for many years he served as General Manager of Marion’s Auto Ranch in West Charleston. In 1989 he moved to Florida to join his son Dan as Vice President of Marion Lawn and Landscape.
Dan loved to travel and enjoyed working with wood. For the last several years the highlight of his life was taking trailers of pumpkins to local nursing homes and spending time with the residents.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 16 College Dr, Orange Park, FL 32065.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Haven Hospice Custead Care Center or the American Diabetes Association.
